If you are friends with Ms. Hunt, tell her that pressuring conventions to break their contracts and their own policies is a good way to get sued for tortious interference by these same conventions. Anime Matsuri already has Ty Beard on retention, don't think that other convention won't follow suit and get lawyers in preparation to sue anyone who messes with their business. In other words, she should stop using her "experiences" (real or otherwise) as cudgel lest the gavel comes down on her instead.

This whole Vic saga belittles actual victims of rape and sexual assault, even if she believes that Vic is an actual turbo rapist she should be horrified that so many people he worked with or knew in the industry just let him get away with it for over 15 years before finally saying a thing.

It doesn't really matter where you stand or what you want tbqh. Nobody really cares. Stand wherever you like. its just important to understand that the Internet actually is serious business. Its one of the biggest things I've learned since finding myself in this autistic cesspit. You have a guy make a shitty .gif of Donald Trump bodyslamming a CNN logo and within a day CNN has doxed him and is trying to ruin his life. Care should be taken in what you do, especially if you are doing it using your own name. It seems unbelievable to the vast majority of people, but that tweet your friend said is a legally actionable thing. You can't just go to someone doing business with someone else and try and stop them from doing business together using information you have not vetted for truth or falsity. FFS that is why the MoRons are paying out the nose in court fees right now. Its why Mark Waid is going to have to sell his toy collection in a year or so. Your friend may be doing things from a place of emotion rather then reason, but you might want to tell her to use her head.
When you act publicly, you are public. If you say something publicly, people will respond. You don't get to throw a pile of crap over the wall and then scream how traumatized you are when crap starts getting flung back.

sorry was typing another post when replied, so this is anecdotal which we all hate as its what they did to vic, and i cant prove it beyond the fact i witnessed it which isnt worth much, but i was at a con and helping staffers i was friendly with at nomcon in 2014 in ireland

It's an IOTA or whatever it's called. As far as I understand, GFM cannot touch that money now. That's why Nick did it that way. GFM has to put the money into it almost as fast as it comes in, and has no control over the money that's been put in it, and it has to be itemized to take money out of it by BHBH.
The absolute worst that KickVic could do, absolute worst, would be to get the GFM shut down which would prevent new money from going in via GFM. And Nick would immediately recreate the fundraiser on another site. It wouldn't affect what has been raised already minus maybe a few days worth of donations.
If KV tard-raged their way into forcing GFM to "return" the doner's money like they did with Vox Day's comic book, all that would do is cause GFM to give $200k to ISWV people -- who would likely immediately donate it and more to the new GFM out of spite.
