Whenever you get this feeling, this "No one can be that stupid"-feeling that completely baffles you and makes the world around you look unreal, look at a picture of the IQ bell curve and remind yourself: that left side exist.

An easy way for threads on this site to get made is through someone being dumb enough to use the same name across every site, from normiebook to their furfaggotry. They think a moderator on Kiwifarms would do the same thing. They think your username is just your first and last name. They think in the years you've been here that you wouldn't have deleted your normie accounts with the same name.

These people are so retarded that they believe everyone else is as stupid as they are.

What is even funnier is that you know people here long ago probably tried doxxing her for shits and giggles and came across that twitter name, but realized it was not our nice girl.

There are a lot of ways people get their usernames. Basing it on their own name is common, but some take names from books, or even steal names from other people they find online. Having things that lead back to your real identity would be silly.

Personally, I created multiple fake personas with a history on social media in various degrees. If any of them ever get doxxed, it probably leads to a dead end as they don't really exist (although there might be people with the same name out there). There isn't any real connection to my identity though, only things that were made up. I don't get why people like them think everyone is stupid enough to post all their info all over the place, especially when involved in drama like this or in connection with this site. I assume others here do similar things, because we want to keep the drama away from our real lives.

People on the internet have forgotten the importance of anonymity on the internet, which is unfortunate since it's more critical that it has ever been. With all the lynch mobs running around gleefully fucking with people's lives for whatever perceived crime, not hiding your identity is nuts. This fiasco, and reading through the Farms in general has certainly inspired me to tighten up my security.

It would be similar to what Maher is going through:
Even with his politics being left-leaning and he would make fun of the right/government generally all the time, he would be completely frustrated with PC culture - especially regarding religion.

I definitely don't put Carlin and Maher on the same level - don't misinterpret this.

If you get stuck in the public eye based on some assholes' false accusations and through no folly of your own, then you have my sympathies instead. And possibly some GoFundMe money.

Regarding Maher, I've only ever watched his show for his guests. Do you have recommendations of his work outside of interviews? 'Cause when I watch his show and how he wields his trained seal audience to drown out his guest, it seems he invites/encourages some of this himself. Then again, what's a man to do when his plucky rebel audience amasses institutional power and becomes The Man themselves?

The thing is, so many of these people on the KV side are the types of people who desperately need their identity IRL associated with their social media presence. They live within a cloistered section of the internet for all this time, then, once they have to leave that bubble, they have no recognition that people outside of their friend group might be able to use their pathological need to tweet about every aspect of their lives against them.

Most of what they call "harassment" is literally just repeating back to them something they themselves said or did, but they're so unused to being called out for it, it seems like a personal attack to them.
