That makes Wings an intentional lolcow. He be playing both sides?
He's not that smart. He just knows that his viewerbase is majority trolls and people who only stick around to watch him rage and fail, so he doesn't go out of his way to drive them away. He streams multiplayer games like Rainbow 6 Siege even though he knows he will get relentlessly teamkilled, stream sniped, and griefed, because that's the kind of stream that brings in good viewer counts and donations for him.

Can't blame the guy. Getting good at the game didn't work for him. Not that it would matter. Being good at games is dime-a-dozen on a place like Twitch. Gotta standout some other way. A niche; even if it's questionable in the long run.

No, it's definitely not good for his long term career plan and mental state. He is very competitive by nature, so every time he gets maliciously fucked with in a multiplayer game where his stats/ranking is on the line, he gets very upset and unbalanced to the point that he is now on SSRI anti-depression medication.

And like DSP, he is claiming that he is only going to stream long enough to cover his living expenses while he goes back for education and training for a new career path. But it has been two years since he claimed he was going to start taking classes and looking for work, and he's still a full time streamer since he's lazy; the streaming money is still marginally better than what he would get as a part-time student on an entry level, minimum wage job. He claims he wants his streams to die down in popularity and donations in order to force him to become more seriously committed to going back to school/work.

So even though courting the troll demographic has managed to extend the longevity of his streaming career and tap into a new donation base, it's fucking him long term by pushing his education/career aspirations further and further out of his reach.

He could easily (well, relatively easy) go to school and stream on the side. The guy barely keeps a schedule so his streaming isn't going to take a hit.

But then again, he did say something about becoming an EMT and/or fireman. So he could use his weight issues as plausible denial.

But like you said, he's never gonna do anything different so long as he is not forced to by circumstances.

He constantly complains about how he has injured his left rotator cuff to the point that it requires surgery in order for him to regain full use of that arm, and he has no plans for getting the surgery. Even if he got his weight in order, he would never be able to do EMT with that kind of crippling injury.

Shame, then. Being the home-stuck type, there's not that much job prospect for him in his area. To the best of my limited knowledge he isn't exactly inclined towards abstract academic subjects that would lift him into a degree field. Guess he's stuck pandling to trolls on Twitch, not that's news to anyone.

I see poker players on Twitch streaming with a five minute delay. Couldn't Wings just do that to prevent the stream sniping?

He says it doesn't work due to the nature of the stream sniping.

He is autistic about always having a full party in multiplayer games to give him a coordination advantage over the opposing team, so he often has to pick up random stream viewers in order to make a full party, as all his trustworthy friends are in UK/EU timezone and he streams at odd hours for them.

His friends are few enough and the trolls numerous enough that at least one troll always makes it into his party, so even if the stream is delayed, the troll(s) in his party can see in realtime what he is doing and send call outs to the opposing team.

He said this is his last one? That can't be right. He's gotten better with each one.
big liquid fan (hence the username) but I can't take anything he says as the 100 percent truth, because he might change his mind later.
When he first was "doxxed" he said he was never coming back. He came back. Then he said he's never working with anyone else again, and he's a solo act. Works with Ludwig anyway while producing Carried Diamond. (He previously worked with him for Ban World.)

So anytime he says something that is an absolute, adjust your expectations. I am excited for a Snort Ranklin album to torment Phil with.

I'm honestly surprised to see people here cutting Wings so much slack. Obviously he's better at dealing with trolls than some of the other lolcows, but to me Wings is just as worthy of criticism because he is an example of someone not knowing when to quit.

I remember seeing a video where he complains about his job as a streamer doesn't afford him the same 'benefits' that a normal job comes with. He said "Where I get to sleep in late, y'all get social interaction."

The man literally acts like he's on a different plane of existence where getting a real job is so far out of the question that you have no choice but to feel bad for someone who decided to roll the dice on making streaming a full time job. Social interaction and other benefits that come from a real job aren't privileges, they're things people worked for and earned.

Online content creation, especially on twitch, is a crapshoot. Acting like you are owed a viewership, or owed fame is only going to hurt your own content because you're just not having fun anymore.

I was a fan of Wings a long ass time ago (off and on from 2010-2014 or so), and fucked with PKA heavy in that time. Fans, trolls, and even PKA hosts have been telling him since probably 2011 that he needs to find a new career path.

It all started when he was at his YouTube peak. His money was pretty good, raking in between $5,000 - $7,000 a month in ad revenue, I think was making payments on 2 trailers, driving around 2 trucks, and was blowing a lot of money on himself and his girlfriend at the time. Then, his channel plateaued and started to decline. He topped out at like 460k subs, then started to fall. Viewership started going down. Everyone around him blew up. WhiteBoy7thst hit a couple million subs. Woody hit a million subs. Everyone was adapting and exploding, but he never got with the times and started falling.

He was telling people in like 2011 or so that he hated doing YouTube and Call of Duty content, which he was known for. It got to the point where he was paying people for MW3 footage, so he could do commentaries over it. There were a lot of people that tried to help him. I remember PKA kind of sucking ass after a while, because it was just 2 hours of them telling Wings how to lose weight and new things he could do for content. They would throw him video ideas, and directions he could take to capitalize on what people liked about him. Kyle took him to his fucking house at the end of 2013 and set up a boot camp for him to lose weight. Drew took him in and was training him and helping him lose weight. Hell, they were even telling him jobs he could do if he didn't want to do YouTube anymore. There were so many fucking people out there trying to pick him up.

The problem is two-fold:
  1. Wings can't take personal responsibility
  2. Wings is lazy
I've seen people fatter than Wings hold down steady jobs. I've seen people with more health problems hold down jobs. As far as that field goes, he really doesn't have an argument as in why he can't go do something else. The only reason he hasn't is because he's too fucking lazy to do it. He's even too lazy to do YouTube and Twitch at this point. I remember a PKA where they were feeding him ideas, and he was like "Oh, I can't do fat Lincoln because I'd have to go buy things." He couldn't even come up with his own video game footage for Christ's sake. There were so many occasions in the time that I watched him where he could have taken simple steps to better his life, and he would just not fucking do it.

Did he ever blame himself for his shortcomings? Nope. It's always the fucking trolls. It's the fucking people on PKA. It's the PKA fans. It's KiwiFarms. Every time he backed himself into a corner, he would cry some crocodile tears about how this group or that group was fucking with him, and it was the sole reason why he's in such a bad spot. If you're bringing in over $60k a year playing video games, while living in a trailer in a corner of the country with a low cost of living, and you can't save fucking anything, then it's your fault you're fucked the minute the money stops coming in. Maybe don't buy a second truck and try to flex on people? It's not YouTube's or Machinima's or the trolls' fault that you are broke, it's the fact that you blew your money while putting the least amount of effort possible into your job until your 15 minutes of fame were up.

I'm not really upset with how things have went, nor do I really care at this point. However, it's fucking nuts checking up on someone from 6 years ago and seeing them struggle with the same simple issues that they were having then.

Just quit streaming, and get a fucking job if you hate it so much and are hurting for cash.

He said that he won't be able to find a job with 30k a year, so he just isn't going to bother. So much for "the day of my surgery will be my last day on twitch", yep. Same for "I will go to school" and other stuff. He is just a less sociopathic and more incompetent version of Boogie. "Fuck up, cry woe is me, repeat".

Sad part is $30k/yr isn't even hard for a somewhat able-bodied adult to find if they're willing to work a shitty job. That's like $15/hr, which you could find in a factory or warehouse. It's not going to be a job where you play video games in your trailer all day, but it's not like there's no other option other than to whine on social media about being broke and hating your streaming job. I'm all for "for each according to their need", but at some point you have to take personal responsibility--especially with the attitude he has.

Honestly, the big difference between Wings and Boogie is that a lot of people liked Boogie up until a certain point. Wings has always been known for being kind of an asshole, shitting on people he thinks are below him, and throwing a fit when he doesn't get his way. People liked and followed him, but the hate has been there since the beginning. Boogie at least waited until he had supporters before going mask off.

Not to make excuses for him but I do think he has mental health issues. Who wouldn’t at this point? He barely leaves his house, his social interaction is mostly with trolls, he puts himself in constantly stressful situations (playing games he doesn’t like and isn’t good at), eats terribly, doesn’t exercise, doesn’t get fresh air and sunshine.

He’s never going to get anywhere until he starts making little changes like going outside for 10 minutes a day or learning to deal with his stress. I don’t think he sees a future for himself.

Hm, he is doing exactly what Wings does - dies and blames team for that - but somehow it is funny.

Been gone for a hot minute so I could focus on real-life shit, but I was actually delighted to see Whale Watchers finally implode. Place was a dumpster fire.

I haven't watched Wings at all since then, but really don't feel like skimming through highlight videos. Has he gotten close to another controller throw, or is he still just stagnating from the lexapro?

He's gotten real sad sometimes but he never gets angry enough to throw anything.

He teamkilled his teammates several times("you've just lost your friend slot", lol) and lost his long carried diamond. Meanwhile another Diamond got carried to the release, you should really check it out. Also, after one disastrous stream he confirmed in chat, that he doesn't want to look for a job, therefore you can forget about him going back to school. Basically, what everyone who didn't have their heads up their asses already suspected.
