T. Greg Doucette / Thomas Gregory Doucette / greg_doucette / TGDLaw / fsckemall / lawdevnull / TDot - Super Lawyer, Failed Politician, Captain of The Threadnought, Drowning in Debt

Ok, no, but serious question, because I'm not Unitedstater and have no real grasp on how much is 1k dollars worth. But. How poor for a lawyer he has to be to not be able to afford a bar exam? Like. Just exactly how bad is he to not earn enough to get licenced? Because if I calculate correctly it's worth more or less working 40hrs/week for 8$/hr for 3 weeks. So the job that requires no skills except for good grip on the hose and sponge. The kind of job the high school kids go for, right? He clearly has time to do that job judging by his twitter stats. And he does that out of spite because somebody injured his ego.

So. Just how pathetic he is that he has no shame in crowfunding and showing his arse while it would be below his level to find that extra job to AFFORD the fee on his own. What a shameless dishonest honorless bald turd. I hope he fails just like he deserves to.

Even most fast food gigs here will get you $10/hr, so it's only 2.5 weeks at McDonald's. But T Greg is already a lawyer, so obviously he makes more.

Let's assume he's an average lawyer, so he can charge a measly $325 an hour. That's half as much as ArmzGurl's $650/hr lawyer. Ignoring taxes since professional fees are tax deductible, he could make this money by lunchtime.

Maybe he's a below average lawyer, and can only charge $150 an hour. He'd have this "for the lulz" money in a single day.

Now let's consider the possibility that he is a dirt cheap, bottom barrel lawyer who can only charge $50/hr and compensates for his lack of skills by tweeting 100+ times a day. Then it would take poor Greg 2.5 days to scrape together cash for his le epic prank, bros.

Finally, let's consider the possibility that T Greg Doucette is an attention whore desperately seeking to turn Twitter Likes into pet food. In that case, maybe no amount of "work" would suffice to pay for the most basic requirements of his profession, his livelihood, and his life; so he would start a GFM and have that money in an hour.

Greg, on the off chance you read this: if you can't afford to drop $1k of your own money on lulz, don't pretend you're a clever enough adult to pull off the gag.

As a side note, I think a minor part of KickVic's frustration with Vic's GFM is that they had not yet been given an outlet to directly affect the case via donations.

ISWV can feel good and feel like they did something by dropping $20 in the GFM, and they got tangible results in the form of a lawsuit and a Ty Beard. That gets them invested in Vic's fight, so they feel directly "rewarded" with results. But KickVic comes from the SJW side of things, they're used to affecting the world via retweets and spewing outrage online for free... and that didn't work in this case, not how it usually does for them. And that's frustrating, to see your main mechanism of power be invalidated.

So along comes T Greg with a scheme that looks like they can throw money at The Right Side Of History, and they leap at the chance to "fight back". Even though Doucette is specifically avoiding any claim that he will work directly on the case, and he knows it's a long shot he'd ever get near it.

So props to T Greg for recognizing a market demand and jumping in, but that matches him up to the dictionary definition of a grifter, way closer than anything Nick's done.

Why doesn't Doucette seek licensing in California, so he can white knight for Pridemore in a way that actually matters when Habergaiden picks up speed?

Since, y'know, he was already talking with her?
Doucette's mountain of debt, taken on in the face of a bad lawyer market, makes me think that he isn't a very forward-thinking individual. Same with choosing to buy a meaningless "super lawyer" title instead of a CPAP DEATH ABATEMENT MACHINE that he needs to keep his brain oxygenated enough to actually work. I wouldn't be surprised to see him do the same thing he did here for Texas again for California once the Pridemore case picks up steam, but not before.

Now I could be mistaken(I am hoping I am not), but wouldn't douche getting a texas license to practice in texas make him easier to depose if need be? I remember nick saying itll be harder to depose him(nick) because he is not representing a client in texas, he does not practice law in texas, and that he does not live in texas.

edit:If he gets his license in texas and starts giving legal advice on twitter to those in texas, would it not be easier to justify getting him in? I mean I dunno why ty would want to depose him, but the possibility would be there.

But why would you want to depose him though? He doesn't know anything. And he never will. Even Shane is more likely to be deposed, and Shane is irrelevant in the lawsuit as he is in life.

This shit is all pocket money for him. He's got an Asian optometrist girlfriend who he lives with who, according to the internet, on average pulls in $110k a year. Even if she's on the low end of that, that's $75-80k. Pretty sure with this guy's low amounts of time in a courtroom and his constant GFM grifting, he's living on her dime.

The Vic case is bigger, and by defeating the big bad powerful pedo priest hug man in the name of for the wahmen, he'd be a legendary hero.

Yeah I had edited in my post I was not sure why he would depose him, but I was not fast enough. Honestly I doubt he would get deposed, but just more of a if need be thing.

I think even below average is optimistic where this chungus is concerned. By his own admission he does almost all of his work pro-bono and compensates for it with Patreon neetbux. He’s like a foil to Rackets, who does pro-bono because he serendipitously stumbled on substantial income by putting on an entertaining/informative show such that he doesn’t need to charge for his services, and is also not fat.

You would think that Tube-Eater would gain more positive traction with the Funimation TCPA documents but he didn't. I'm really starting to question the authenticity of his audience now.

That's the kiss of death for a guy- getting significantly outearned and being provided for by the chick. Maybe exceptions for kids and home schooling situations or being an Italian underwear model. But here it's impossible for her to have any respect for baldy soy boy. He probably will be living in Shane's child brothel and shoe emporium within the year.

His business plan seems to have been “Run up $300,000 in student debt in order to become a lawyer who specializes almost exclusively in taking on pro bono clients”. And living in his car while doing this. Now call me finicky, but this isn’t a generally the sort of life management skills that I look for when hiring an attorney, or manager, or drive through attendant. Heck Waffle House looks for better life skills than this and they hire straight out of prison.

Nick is in a unique situation. Most lawsuits do not attempt to drag in non party lawyers as witnesses. For a whole list of reasons. Yeah having the lawyer connected to your state reduces the hassle a little. But it’s still an approach that will cause nothing but grief.

To bring in an non party lawyer as a witness you have to overcome quite a few obstacles.
- the Lawyer has unlimited access to the legal system and can and will fight you at every turn. It costs them nothing and your client thousands. This is generally viewed as poor return on investment.
- if the lawyer is out of state he will be fighting you on his home turf. His state. Escalating the expenses and difficulties.
- you have to overcome the perception that you are seeking to use the Lawyers expertise to prove your case. You can’t demand expert testimony in this way. The lawyers expert opinion is his work product. You are not entitled to that. So even if you can get him, you are very limited in what you can ask. Add to that questions of privilege which will hound you.
- did I mention he is going to legally fight you at every point? At every point you will be having to explain to the judge why this is necessary.

Note this is different than trying to bring in someone such as one of the HR lawyers who would be a party.

There is no reason Vic and Ty would want to talk to, let alone subpoena or depose Gregykins. He’s a non party uninvolved internet troll.

He has to be like completely broke, like no actual lawyer would be this broke. He has to be so broke that only an audience of Twitter nobodies could possibly look at this and not be skeptical of his abilities.

I honestly hope he gets his goal, and I sincerely hope that he has to take the Texas bar exam. I also sincerely hope he tries to practice law in Texas, and has to e-beg for plane tickets so he can appear in court.

This. This. That. I just super look forward to that particular gaiden. Better, begging for bus tickets.

Nick is in a unique situation. Most lawsuits do not attempt to drag in non party lawyers as witnesses.

Imagine this. You're a litigant in a terrible defamation case where you've unquestionably defamed a defendant hundreds of times, and you have no evidence for the shit you said at all.

How do you spend your money?

If you answered "I'll subpoena an out of state non-lawyer with no relevant testimony who has literally made a career out of personally trashing me and everything I stand for and I'll force this guy to testify in my case" you are Ron Toye and no sane person on the planet.

The sheer badness of this idea is incomprehensible.

Greg is not bankrupt. Greg save puppy.
At least, it's the new theory of the simpletons.

It's amazing what a scam artist can make a disabled believe.

Watching that sperg squelch on twitter is so entertaining. I really do wonder if they read and understand what they type.
