I am speculating and I don't want to go armchair psychologist here, but I believe this is a result of an inability to differentiate between social media and the real world. Look how often he tweets. He lives on twitter, as do so many others. Now he's been yanked out of the simulation. Worlds have collided and he cannot reconcile/process it.
