See if this sounds familiar; a man doing very well for himself comes to believe that he's invincible and destined for unparalleled success. Riled by this and pushed by the wicked whispers of a woman, the man betrays everything that he stands for, sets ruin to everything he made, and even at the height of his power, begins to go mad from the chaos he's wrought. Overcome at the weight of his own actions, the man slowly breaks, and having abandoned all his friends and allies, is left alone with the woman, and what power remains. Once she goes, the man is completely shattered, and finally ripped from the idea of his invincible guarantee of success, the man gives in to the chaos, and finally dies.
Translate it to modern, and could you imagine him giving a speech like this?
"Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing."
