They realise at this point that all the attempts to twist facts to suit their point of view aren't winning people over, the only ones convinced are the people too deep into that narrative to be able to turn the ship around without looking retarded. So they're constantly trying to undermine the main faces of the public information who are on Vic's side in an attempt to convince people that either Ty is a moron who couldn't contest a traffic ticket let alone defend a case, and that Nick is some underhanded money laundering racketeer as a means to push support to their side.

The problem they're having is that their acts are as blatant to anyone with an IQ in the positive digits just like how Casey's attempt to use the TCPA to lock down Ron and Monica's deposition was to literally everyone. They're the kinds of people who think they're smart because forced a square peg into a round hole until everyone turns around and points out they're fucking adults and to get out of the fucking playground and grow the fuck up.

The problem they have with Nick and Ty (Nick big time) is they threw a monkey wrench in their plans. Vic would have already rolled over if it weren't for Nick and they'd be on to their next targets. Now anyone with anything to lose is going to think hard before they try to defame someone.

Ironically, actually trying to do that was a completely reasonable strategic move on Casey's part. Unlike these twitter law morons who know nothing about the case, he knew that would be disastrous.

I'm also pretty sure Soye Boye locking him into the dumb opposition to the confidentiality order, unless it was just Casey himself being a perverse idiot, was against his better judgment.

But he knew up front that a deposition of both of these assclowns would be very bad and did what he could to stop it.

Apparently appellate law is super duper difficult, and not like immigration law, tax law, or constitutional law. I see quite a few self-professed attorneys in this whole thing that spout just the stupidest shit, and it's always so funny, because even Akiva, Greg, and co. at least sound like they're lawyers.

Yeah I agree that it was a decent strategy, but Casey played his hand too openly and forcefully, which is ultimately what made it fail. The deposition videos so far have pretty much proven he isn't capable of being subtle with his endless objection to forms and really dumb non-objection objections to try and stop Ron from being a complete sperg. Part of me feels bad for Ron and Monica's legal team because they have a massive stinker of a case and there is very little reasonable grounds to argue on, right now they're trying to run out the clock and delay in some weird hope that Vic runs out of money which is why I think they're so interested in the Go Fund Me finances so they can see what they have to work with. EDIT: This is also why they absolutely fucking despise Nick because he keeps bringing more funds in, even quicker now that he's went full shill mode.

If the case can't be tossed on the TCPA or appeals which there is very little chance of that happening, they know that a jury isn't going to side with their clients. It also doesn't help that Ron is the most smug and unlikeable client you could have, meaning that they can't even play on people's sympathy or emotions.
