This has been quite the read. A good writer could turn that into prose and make it a fantastic comedy-thriller court story.

But I've never been really involved in the legal process, so I have something I'm curious about. How much to "outside influences" affect a case? Devyn Cosineau must know that there is a portion of the world that is watching. You don't just have the Sikhs. I mean, sure, they could pose a problem, but there's an even bigger group that is keeping tabs, our secret allies /r/gendercritical and Mumsnet. Already on goinglikeelsie's twitter, moderately popular lesbians and feminists are commenting. I'm sure even JBP, or one of his worshipers, is keeping tabs on this. All of these people are also familiar with the disturbing pedo side of Johnny Boy.

Would Cosineau have to consider these factors for the "protection" of the plaintiff? Do they feel they are truly protecting the rights of this one person? Are they willing to show that troonism > religion? Will they risk the Internet explosion?

Either way, I do want to see if any white knights step forward in defense of Johnny boy. The mental gymnastics will be Olympic in nature.

I believe the original poster for the now-canceled event promoted this as "all bodies" -- presumably SJW-speak that the event would have no ableist restrictions (along with the glaring absence of parents and other trustworthy chaperons).

This all ties in to the most interesting unanswered question of the story, IMO: what does Devyn Cousineau really want? That's all this comes down to. The rest is just song and dance, albeit immensely entertaining song and dance.

Folks pointed out further up the thread that Cousineau is a smart lawyer with ample connections who can have the career of her choosing. She's where she is because she wants to be there. And when you think about it, she has a petty tyrant's dream job. The fact that it's not a real court is a benefit from that standpoint. She can make up the rules as she goes along, punish who she likes, reward who she likes. She can say the magic words "publication ban" and become virtually immune to oversight.

Yaniv's antics, as insane as they are, I think are going to have little impact on the outcome of the case. In the end it'll be about Devyn Cousineau's agenda, whatever that exactly is.

There is almost zero chance he gets ruled against as the president it would set would be unacceptable to future SJW agendas. At best the kangaroo court will give the defendant a slap on the wrist. Most likely Yaniv gets full judgement.

Now I want to add that the HRT can levey fines but if the defendant declines to pay Yaniv will have to sue them in actual civil court to get a legal claim for payment.

The HRT has the power to issue fine yes, but currently lack the power to force collection without a civil judgement. And by currently I mean they're fighting tooth and nail now to have the power to issue warrants and arrest those who ignore issued judgments.

Ultimately the people behind these joke of a kangroo courts want thier biased sham of a system to have all the power of a civil trial.

Thank fucking god for the Civil Liberties Association and the brave Canadian men and women fighting these insane SJW tyrants every step of the way. They deserve far more credit then they're getting for saving what's left of Canada Charter of Rights and Freedoms from the PC shit-nazi's.

We will see how this goes for Jonny at the Township meeting. The Township of Langley has tweeted (several times) that the All Bodies Youth Swim is/was not an event they put on. Apparently the pool is owned by the City of Langley. Surely the Township officials are relieved to have no responsibility in that pedo mess. They have enough pedo mess on their hands already due to Yaniv living within their boundary.

As much as I get that not all disabilities are visible and some people need scooters on a limited, non-permanent basis, this still looks bad for JY and the claims of a permanent condition that makes standing difficult at best if not impossible. If JY was stateside claiming disability, there would be a very good chance an undercover investigator would take pictures of JY standing like no big deal with comments questioning the alleged disability.

I think it's been pretty well established these people don't care for Yaniv at all and just tolerate his right to speak.

I'm pretty sure Canada's Charter of Rights & Freedoms provide for some degree of free speech to government bodies such as the TOL council meetings. Just as in the US, there will always be that one individual that attends every local council meeting to ramble about stuff nobody cares about or upon which the council can't act. Sadly, this means there is nothing to prevent JY from spending the allotted time (3-5 minutes?) advocating for all-age nude swim events or demanding the city buy and use rainbow-striped pizza ovens for pride month. At most, the council's only option is to tune JY out or think "not again" until JY's time is up and the next person speaks.

You know it's going to be a huge cocktease if they dismiss SG based on the geography argument.

Even if the tribunal is a feels over reals justice body, I can't see how they can unconscionably rule that someone must provide services to someone outside their consistently-defined service area. Then again, many of these tribunal people rule as if they have no conscience.

I won't pretend to know precisely how the tribunals are set up or how those who sit on them are appointed or selected but from the way I've read their rulings are treated the members are nearly beyond reproach, which is part of the problem.

The fact they aren't part of the legal system (more on that to follow) seems to mean that the tribunal folks can make any ruling they want. Even if a ruling is overturned on appeal, there is nothing to deter a tribunal from ruling the same way even if the appeals court will overturn the ruling every single time.

This is contrary to any type of court system. My business law professor once mentioned that any competent judge wants to issue a well-formed ruling and try to get it right because any judge that has rulings reversed on appeal on a regular basis begins to lose credibility and professional respect over time. With these tribunals, this form of check and balance is glaringly absent.

Continuing with the above, these Tribunals seem to rule in the moment with no need to be consistent from hearing to hearing. The way things seem now, JY could receive a favorable ruling from Member Cousineau but Sam Trans could make the same claims in front of the same member but be denied for not being on Devyn's list of best buddies.

The fact that these tribunals want the force of civil law makes me wish I could rate @Sweet and Savoury informa-fying because the desire to see that happen is both informative and horrifying at the same time.

If he ever gets slapped down harshly, or consistently, I believe he could escalate. Look out how is behavior escalated since the thread has started. John isn't a violent sociopath, but he's shown alarming stalking behavior and a willingness to escalate situations to maintain control. That alone makes me think he is capable of violence. His victim would need to be extremely vulnerable or outright helpless, but he's shown he has no problem picking on people in those positions.

Agreed; just because Yaniv doesn’t seem like the “well-planned mass-shooting” type doesn’t mean he isn’t the “strangles an 11 year old in a panic” type. I totally believe someone who is this openly predatory and obviously full of narcissistic rage is capable of violence.

I wish those of you complaining about how one party in this case gets away with blue murder realise how these things work.

This is a hooman rights tribunal under the UN Declaration of Human Rights (Peace be upon it), and various Canadian enshrinings of that declaration into law. A charter first laid down in 1948 in response to one of the greatest genocides in history.

So, if someone brings a case to the Hooman Rights Tribunal, they stand in a long line of victimhood stretching back, through the Rwandan genocide, right back to the Nazi camps. Indeed, one party in this case is the next best thing to someone who was tattooed by the Nazis and barely escaped being put into a shower room with Zyklon B. (has that party, the stunning and brave inspirational leader of the global LGBT community, not received terrifying genuine death threats from the Obergruppenfuhrer of the 100% totes genuine Nazi KKK League?)

The other party in this case who makes $500 a year and now suffers with depression on the other hand is the accuseddefendant in a human rights case. As Hitler would’ve been, had he not topped himself. A human rights violator: next best thing to Hitler and Pol Pot, right?

So of course we, the humane and liberal judges of British Columbia, do not trigger the (potential) human rights victim further by asking them not to check Twitter or stop their mother storming in and out or feeding them questions via text message. The poor poor (potential) human rights victim must be treated with every kindness and lenience.

I will still bet anyone here good odds the complainant in this case wins, despite all the lunacy that has happened, and the predictions made here.
