That interesting, I never thought of it as a by product of phones.
I'm thinking this is among the first instances of technology defining our grammar.
I don't think so, because the internet already added LOL ROFL and all that shit before phoneposting. Hell, I bet telephones had an impact too. Probably any new method of communication has an effect on the language as it evolves to better fit the medium.

I'm just glad the telegram didn't permanently cause all '.' to be read as "STOP!"

People in stream chats who donate little piddly amounts of money every thirty seconds. It usually triggers some sort of fanfare, brings the whole stream down to a screeching halt while the streamer thanks them for the tenth time in as many minutes for donating a dollar.

Just donate the $10 at once you little faggots. We all know you only do that because you're some attention starved nobody.

all mods have small dicks and will ban you for existing because they lack that KF mod H U E G donger.
also fuck fucking CAPTCHA sucks, man.

The art community getting upset if you even dare to use their precious art as your profile pic, it's like sue me niggas or shut up goddamn

people who aggressively correct other people's grammar.

One of my pet peeves of the internet is getting irrational death threats, but maybe I’m too sensitive. (sarcasm)

I got a message yesterday about double posting from my old screen cap mod friend......

“I’m trying to do better, sir!”

people who use question marks constantly. a question mark isn't for when you're questioning something, it's meant to be used to signify something is said in a particular tone. a lot of people, especially on tumblr, use them way too often and it makes them sound like valley girls.

Reddit-style verbiage.

Calling people sir. Telling people they "won the internet" or "faith in humanity == restored". Just the dumb cringy shit people post on there.

It's even worse when they say that kind of shit in real life. Makes me want to drive my head through a wall.

Them: Me: comment formatting, & just forced memes in general. Also people who post in all lowercase and people who reply to everything with "uh i guess" or "ok". I know replying with ok is the oldest shitpost in the book but it's still annoying goddamnit

Instagram animal filters. They make me irrationally angry in a way that can't be good for my physical health. It's the dumbest fad that refuses to die. I hate them so much.

Do other SM platforms have these animal filters, too? They seem to becoming more prevalent on Facebook as well. It's one thing to see kids using them. When grown adults do, however, (especially if they are aged 30+) it looks immature to see them with a set of animated dog ears/tongue or rabbit ears/nose. Worse is when they combine it with the voice modulation that makes them sound like chipmunks and then upload the ensuing audio/video combination.

The use of "literally" for everything, calling people "sir", and replying to "lmao @ u" when out of arguments against anyone.
