I said it before, but I've watched the AT4W movie. Linkara's WORSE than Doug at directing. At the very least, the anniversary movies felt like below-average amateur student films. The AT4W movie feels like something that'd be included in Red Letter Media's Best of the Worst.

Give him the cookie, but then take it away when you remember when he has a surge in bills, or taxes, he does an emergency live stream, or marathon of videos. He puts the weight entirely on his direct fans to do the lifting. Yes, the last couple of times, they came in and paid his bills for him, but you can only do that so many times before questions are asked by even the most die-hard fans.

He's really going the DSP rout I feel like, there's going to be a bunch of 'I need help!' Streams going forward when taxes are due, his audience isn't going to start suddenly go up. I think he needs to look at the tax livestream as the point where he needs to get a job

I like old radio dramas and tried listening to this out of interest and it is beyond painful. Linkara clearly doesn’t know how to write for an audio medium and listening to a bunch of people smugly talk about horror films and make pop culture references for like 10 minutes is not entertaining in the slightest. I can’t believe they actually scripted this because it sounds like a bunch of people doing a normal podcast.

How much of this did you get through? And were they all playing new characters, or just their online personas again?

Also, dude cannot act. He comes off whiny most of the time, and when he tries to act serious, he slips into that annoying false baritone that he does for Harvey Finevoice.

His angery voice comes off really as a nasally whine than even frustration, the dudes attempts at emoting are like he's never actually interacted with another person before.

In college my writing professor had this to say about parodies: In order to be funny and work as a story They still have to function as the original work. Young Frankenstein still works as a Universal Horror Movie, Airplane! still works as a disaster Movie and Monty Python's Life of Brian still works as a Biblical Epic. Linkara, like the rest of TGWG thinks that parodies should just be nonstop winking to the camera, rampant lampshade hanging and extremely stupid subverting expectations. It's almost like they're trying to do a Mike Meyers movie with every role played by Mike Meyers.

Yeah, even the Austin Powers movies work on a level as mediocre spi-fi, if you toned down the silliness of the situations, had a fairly dull British guy spouting one liners and did away with the golden cock it'd be a basic bond wannabe, but if the tgwtg crowd wanted to fo something like that every character would be Austin Powers

I don't know how to word this properly so I'm going to do the best I can to explain what I think: the anniversary movies to me felt like they fit in for what they actually were. They came off as long, old school YouTube comedy videos. Just a goofy project that some friends got together to make so they could get some laughs when the upload it online.

That's ultimately what they were. Now maybe behind the scenes Doug had different intentions and goals for them, but ultimately they fell perfectly into place for what their concept was in reality.

The AT4W felt like somebody trying to make a legitimate semi-amateur, semi-independent film but ultimately failing because it was just beyond the movie makers potential.

Doug wouldn't give him a good rate to use the studio for his movie and even suggested Doug could go film in the corner while Lewis get the majority of the studio space?

Maybe you can say that for Kickassia or Suburban Knights (they're all equally terrible so whatever) but you can't say the same for To Boldly Flee. That film is incredibly narcissistic, overly ambitious, self-indulgent, and takes itself waaaay too seriously for what it actually is. It clearly wasn't just a goofy simple project for Doug.

My main gripe about Linkara was that he proudly paraded himself as the "feminist" & how he could be an ally but when Phelous & Lupa left CA, they said exactly what was said in the Not So Awesome document, and he DEFENDED CA.
He said "Are there problems with the leadership? Oh, most certainly. There always will be, whether it’s something minor like a mistake made or something big like the events that have led to some people leaving the site. But I remain optimistic for the future and for making things better."

This was three years before the mass exodus from CA. Again, he knew all the grievances that people like Lupa, Lindsay & MarzGurl had, especially Lupa but he stuck with CA.
Why did he stick around? According to his statement upon leaving he said "I believed I could change things from within, lend my voice to the higher-ups of the company to inspire them to recapture what had made the site so beloved before."
Lewis, you live 10 hours away from the Walkers in Chicago, you have ZERO ability to change things from within. Instead, you stuck around with CA, the Walkers until you saw which way the wind was blowing and decided that NOW was the right time to be a true friend and ally to poor, pitiful, Lupa.

Imagine how much he would get done if he didn't do the show for two weeks or hell, even a month, dedicated himself to setting up a buffer of some sort. Wouldn't that actually free up some time so that he wouldn't have to work so hard within a week just to get an episode done. That's what he does for the Longbox of the Damned, I thought he usually films those in the summer.

Couldn't agree more. I've been very critical on Doug and how he mistakenly thinks that just pointing some "plotholes" (actually they are just things we all suspend our disbelief to) makes him as qualified as the people he makes fun off like Christopher Nolan.

But Linkara is another level of bad. At least Doug tries to entertain other people and he is willing to make fun of himself. Linkara is just trying to shoehorn his self insert Mary Sues everywhere.

I sincerely doubt Linkara is capable of writing a story or direct a movie that isn't just a wish-fulfillment fantasy of his. I've said it before and I will say it again: Linkara isn't trying to entertain us; he is just playing with toys and he is just allowing us to see him.

Looking back at AT4W, it always struck me as exceptional when internet reviewers tried to play as different characters while having conversations with each other; it's just autistic. But it's WAY more prevalent when Lewis does it, because it's an excuse for him to be center stage no matter what idiotic storyline he plots out. His various personas include:

• A "brave" and "heroic" comic reviewer with a magic gun that was created during the satanic sacrifice of a young child (I'm not making that shit up, that's actually the gun's back story, wtf)

This. So much this. It's not just him too. Like him, or hate him, Asalieri broke the news on 'upside down cross' years before CTC. Every single site contributor went out of their way to try and debunk that story, only for it to quietly slip into the CTC document.

Every one of those fuckers are liars, or at the very least complicit in the lies of the site. None of them were willing to jump off the sinking ship until the water hit their chest, but when they did, they instantly flipped all that shit around on Doug, Rob, and Michaud. Also, let's not play with ourselves here. Lupa is pitiful, but she's not poor. Bitch still owes Lordkat an apology for calling him 'The Rapist' repeatedly in public. Holly saw this happened, knew Justin was the real rapist, but kept her trap shut and let Lordkat take the heat versus even telling Lupa "I cannot say who the rapist was, but it wasn't Lordkat".
