When I'm feeling bored I just give the Ole chronicallyill hashtag a go and I can easily find tons and tons of ott "spoonies" or fakers. Most seem to have a serious eating disorder or mental disorder that just fits so well with one of these dime in a dozen diseases (pots, EDs, GP) they all claim to have and they run with it to get the attention they are seriously craving. It's quite sad... The real chronic illness accounts are hard to find and it's usually a cute kid with cancer, cp or other unfakeable illnesses. And every time I find one of these fake accounts I come here looking for them cause they all show up eventually. I might find too much enjoyment watching them scramble to make sense of their very holey stories. Found and old lolcow thread where a spoonies came in to defend herself and still couldn't keep her story straight...

Yeah that was me! Ya know, the person who knew the rules better than the actual moderators. i've posted a few things about her already but...

1) She changed a LOT over the years I knew her. When I first met her she was working crazy hours (two jobs at a time and worked like three weeks in a row without a day off) plus going through online pharma tech classes. She had one job in a hospital (i think environmental services/janitorial), worked at a candy shop, she worked for Old Navy a while, worked for Walgreens after she got her pharma tech certification. My first impression was that she was really driven if a little stunted. She was definitely and obviously anorexic and while we joke about the "worst case in New Jersey" the photos do not give away how terrifyingly thin she looked irl. She didn't complain much that I remember. After going to Renfrew Philadelphia she seemed like she just wanted to move on with her life and get back on her feet. Then maybe a year later she relapsed again and was sent to Nevada for treatment. When she came back she was a totally different person. This is when the health complaints started. The first thing I remember her complaining about other than ED-related pain, dizziness, and insomnia was fibromyalgia.

Oh, worth noting, her behavior change from focused anorexic to munchie whiner happened right around when her baby sister (who is quite a bit younger than her, like 6 years maybe?) graduated from a good university and moved to SE Asia to start an exciting job. Dani and her sister were really close and I've always wondered if that wasn't Dani's "oh shit I wasted my life" moment that made her desperate to make it not be her fault. Like people tend to see eating disorders as a moral failing but a "real" illness would be a more legitimate reason she was stuck at age 14 while her baby sister was off living her dream life. Could just be tinfoil there because it's not like she's the only ana-chan to move on to "I'm just really really physically ill now and can't eat, nothing to do with my eating disorder!" Also worth noting she has an aunt (?) who's also a munchie. She used to comment on her facebook all the time giving her advice on how to demand what she "needed" from doctors and stuff.

2) I wouldn't say we were ever "friends". She's really self-absorbed and hard to be friends with. She wouldn't remember anything you said from one conversation to the next because she didn't listen to or care what you had to say. It was all waiting for you to shut up so she could talk. I wouldn't have invited her over for dinner or something. She used to talk to me on social media a lot though.

3) Yes, her voice is that annoying IRL. That's not a character she puts on for the internet.

4) I haven't seen her in quite a while, but mostly she dicks around on the internet. Goes shopping with her mom and aunt (I think) once a week. Takes bullshit online classes and reads books for teenagers. Watches a LOT of netflix and youtube, especially chronic illness vloggers (shocking I know.) She was super obsessed with Jaquie when Jaquie was at her most popular and would constantly compare herself to Jaq's vlogs. Towards the end of when I lived near her she was going to ER several times per week and would even dress up and do makeup before she went as if she was going to dinner. She did go out a little but she doesn't have money to blow or friends to hang out with so her options are kind of limited.

5) Her apartment is tiny and imo poorly laid out. Public housing low-rise tower from the 1960s, they designed it so every unit had a balcony with sunlight but as a result every unit is also weirdly oriented and shaped. It's hard to keep a space like that clean to begin with, but she does collect a lot of crap. Borderline hoarder? She would keep old medicine bottles to make it look like she had tons of pills to take every day.* I don't know if she cleans her sheets regularly. She doesn't bathe herself regularly or do anything in the way of skincare. Her excuse when I knew her was she couldn't wash regularly because she didn't have a shower chair or a bath tub and she was afraid she'd pass out standing in the shower (because you can't sit on the floor of the shower apparently.) And the book hoard is newer. I don't remember books being a significant part of her life before. I actually remember her having a really short attention span for them. She didn't clean much and even when she did it was not... real clean? Like she would clear off her desk to do her meds but not wipe down the table so it would still have a layer of schmutz on it. Now remember that she was trying to get a service dog in that apartment. Augh.

(*IIRC she also used to put OTC meds and vitamins in them sometimes so it looked like she was taking a bunch of prescription pills when really it was like tylenol and vitamin C tablets. I distinctly remember seeing someone pull a pill out of a prescription bottle and immediately I recognized it was a tylenol capsule, the red and blue ones with the grey stripe down the middle. However I can't be sure it was Dani. It might have been Amanda/Ren because I seem to remember it was on an Instagram Live video and she used to do them like 4 times per night.)

Yes, she is indeed setting the stage. I think I saw a comment where someone suggested it and she passed it off as "nah, I don't have that and if I look into it people will just call me a munchie" (not exact quote but you get the gist). Random thought but did anyone try to get the OP updated for this thread? I remember talking about it and saved that post as a bookmark but did anyone try to get it changed? I can’t remember how we get OPs changed? It would help with all the people jumping ship from IF asking about the people we post about.
