Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

But she said she forgave Vic. Also, what caused the twins to suddenly contact Monica?

The most important thing right now for Vic’s team is to:

A: Steer the case past any TCPA bullshit and into a courtroom and jury, and...

B: Establish some sort of motive for Rial, Ron, and the last VA whose name I forget.

There are no credible accusations against him (certainly nothing that rises above he-said-she-said) and if the depositions are anything to go by, the defendants would come across as deceitful or at least suspicious to any jury member.

But to really make it a home run, Ty and the rest of Vic’s legal team need to come up with a credible motive as to why they would attack Vic and try to damage his career.

Not saying that it’s not winnable without one, but it would definitely go a long way towards sewing it up.

Has there been any hints or signs as to what that might be?

Quite true. Especially in light of what would be a comparable (if far more appalling) conspiracy: Jeffrey Epstein.

That's what irks me about this. Somehow, 'everyone' knows Vic is a creeper for YEARS and YEARS but NOTHING happens until ONE DAY. That is NOT how it works. And Vic is not some super-connected motherfucker like Epstein. He's a nice guy, sure, but there's no way in hell this shit wouldn't eventually impinge on his employment and appearance at conventions.

One way to get past that, would be to try to hang it up on #timesup, Weinstein and all the other pseudo-feminist hashtag bullshit.

Not saying that it would work, but it’s the obvious play.

Don’t know a lot about this case as I’m relatively recent to this story, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they had tried some moves in that direction.

I'm leaning towards they didn't want a conservative guy being more popular than them. Greg Ayres already hated Vic for his religion/politics and pretty much all the accusers are SJWs.

Alternately: he just hasn't been caught until now.

(No, I don't actually believe that. Playing devil's advocate here.)
Then it sounds like every con owner who apparently knew (because it was an apparent "open secret" and all) should be implicated for aiding and abetting an apparent well known rapist/predator to the conventions. Likewise, the VAs and agents of funimation that have apparently been "saying it for years" and companies that have been allowing him to continue prowling conventions under their watch, i.e. sponsored events and appearances, should be run into the ground for allowing something as awful as that to happen.

It bears repeating that it makes no sense that he turns into a voice actor and is suddenly this serial rapist when he was a police officer and a teacher, two roles of power and privilege that would be better suited to taking advantage of women, and yet strangely there are no accusations from that time period. Just accusations from a very specific clique of people who are all connected.

This is absolutely the reason why, and the fact that the Funimation VA crew is a rat's den. They all have each other's backs and have hated Vic for years.

Monica gave them an answer to that in the depo. When asked why she thought Vic was so powerful, she immediately mentioned an anime (Tsubasa) where Vic was advertised on the box and she wasn't, even though SHE was the main character. And she emphasized that she was the main character multiple times. I actually think Carey dropped the ball here, as she could have coaxed her to name more examples.

In short, jealousy. Vic got the top billing, and she didn't.

So Carey said "ichibancon" during the depo seemingly by mistake. But both Monica and Vic were at ichibancon 2013, about 6 years ago. Possible location of the jellybean incident?

The schedule doesnt match perfectly though. It was a two weekend panel, monica was scheduled for the first and vic was scheduled for the second so they didn't have any scheduled signings overlapping.

Edit: actually looking like colassalcon 2013. Vic is in area 1, Monica is in area 3.

Or just directly attack it by asking if there are any examples of where Vic got someone fired, recast, etc. I'd probably try to structure it so it can be used to attack Sabat as well by showing that if he did those things then he would have power.

This! That was the moment that clearly lit Monica up in depo. When the mask dropped. Vic was more popular. Vic had just headlined the most successful anime movie in the US, ever. And the whole resentful pack of them wanted Vic gone. And Ron? Ron’s the Sheepdog! Protecting “muh Personal Fiancé!” The depo’s highlighted that these are shallow petty people playing mean girls type high school games. They never expected Vic to fight back! He’s not supposed to do that. He’s supposed to slink away, apologize over and over and maybe Monica might bestow some mercy on him. Monica’s response to “how Vic could redeem himself” was telling. There is no deep complex motive. It’s a pack of people that never matured past 10th grade.

No wonder Ty Beard said Monica did great at depo. She gave Carey everything Carey wanted, while never realizing it and thinking she came out on top.

True, but not quite what i was going for. Monica was dying to tell them that SHE was the star, and not that rapey creep pedo assaulter. If Carey poked a smidge more, I think she would have given a bunch more examples where she got the shaft (albeit not vic's... :P), and made it abundantly clear she was jealous AF.

As it is, her demeanor with just that one example may have been enough anyway. I think her candor there might have caught Carey off-guard - "she can't possibly be that obviously jealous over these cartoon credits, right?"

You're supposed to just cancel whoever they say and never look at what their own wild lies say about them, and apply consequences equally.

"EVEN THOUGH I'M THE MAIN CHARACTER!"

That's as close as you'll get to "You're goddamn right I ordered the Code Red" in this case, I think.

Are you trying to tell me that Ty isn't going to being yelling at Monica in the court room. That he won't be screaming, "I want the TRUTH!" to Monica's "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH". Unbelievable that courts won't be that animated./sneed

But on a serious note I finished watching the depo a bit ago and loved that line she said. I know it will be played and emphasized to the jury. You can hear Monica trying to walk back that statement in front of a jury even now. They will claim it was somehow showing how much "power" vic had instead of how much jealousy, envy, spite and hatred she had for him.

Any reasonable person can see the butthurt on her about the overshadowing vic did. Which most likely wasn't even his choice to begin with.

I wish Amazon Primus had asked if Monica had gone to conventions with vic after the assault. Then follow up with "how come you didn't go to kc because you were fearful of Vic when you've been going to all these other conventions with him for so long?"
I imagine that kinda stuff is gonna be saved for court. No sense catching them up in lies before they're before a jury and give them time to construct new narratives.

That incident happened what, 10 years ago? The argument can still be made that she never bought it up to anyone up until now, they don't need any more ammo to make the case that she still felt comfortable around Vic even right after it happened.

Does anyone else think it odd that both Sheep Dog Ron and Land Whale Monica DON'T own their own homes and are renting, at their age?

Doesn't suggest they have had very successful careers.

That seems like a very obvious question to ask, I'm surprised that it wasn't asked.

But their answer in the deposition would be on tape and could be shown to a jury.

Now despite that question not being asked, Moronica may anticipate it and work out a half decent answer, if they end up going to court.

I wouldn't necessarily, just because I know some folks who know they would struggle with the tasks of property upkeep, whether it's because they acknowledge their own immaturity or they have disabilities. With this two, I would take a shot in the dark and guess it's because of laziness, because they certainly seem well off enough to own SOME sort of property.

Maybe they spend too much money on cars or holidays or clothes or God knows what people manage to piss away large sums of money on.

I struggle with that. I just yell "LIGHT THEM UP, ALREADY!!111" the whole deposition long, because I just want to know they have won, and that justice is served, and move on. Nick explained it well in the second Toye depo video that the goal isn't to 'beat' them in depo, but just get enough facts on the record to get past TCPA.

And then light them on fire.

I just dont have the patience/foresight to see that far ahead. Hopefully BHBH has this under control, and hopefully with a few surprises prepared.

It's also a Millenial thing, though I don't know if they qualify. Its speculated to be a result of the amount of college debt they have taken on. Again, I don't know if MoRon qualify for that explanation.
