TGWTG Linkara / Lewis Lovhaug - HMMMMMMM? (Dead Gay Muppet Gangbang)

The Missingno twist also really felt like a last minute writing decision he made because IIRC, the Missingno reveal was in the final episode of the arc. So he probably had months of work put into this arc, and yet saw nothing wrong with "The new villain will be Missingno, the Pokemon glitch". In retrospect, this was just a sign of things to come, considering that in the future, he becomes a Power Ranger, a Power Ranger OC and used Pyramid Head as a Pokemon (that last one sounds like a joke, but isn't, look it up).
I think a big problem is people like Linkara don't really want to write comedies, they want to write straight-faced wish fulfillment power fantasies where they are the strongest\smartest\wittiest\most tortured and everybody idolizes them, and they use the argument "it's a parody, wacky lolrandom things are bound to happen" as a crutch and an excuse for their shortcomings in writing, acting and general creative skills, even when their feeble little plots are supposed to be super cereal. You see this a lot in fan fiction as well.

He hasn't matured as a writer in the slightest.
lol NOPE!
Everything is over explained and clarified, lots of info dumbs that are barely comprehensible, and the protagonist is literally just a Linkara self insert trying and failing so hard to be edgy, and the sailor scouts are just his sidekicks. Worse they are horribly out of character just amazed at how cool he is.

Basically, this is just one of his comic books skits as a novel
And this is the guy who thinks he's a better writer than Doug.

One positive thing about his story arcs is that he doesn't really incorporate them into his reviews. You can watch an episode and once the comic is done, that's it, shut the video off.
Funny you mention that, because he's actually made a playlist of all the storyline parts. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxCy3y2-ZD2EMO8tW4FKYtvKAMLLS12ZE

Mother of God. He actually uses the DiC names, the same edition Doug Walker was blste for using in his review. Sure it was written in 2001, but Lewis seems like the guy to insist using the Japanese names because he had some friend who could get uncut fansubs of Sailor Moon VHS tapes

Don't forget better director than Doug Walker. And better at understanding characters than Doug Walker. Meanwhile all 3 anniversary films have a higher IMDB score than the AT4W movie. Take that for what it's worth.

His brother liked Nightwing comics. One day he read Teen Titans crossover and liked it. Was part of some e-communities when they started and actually freaked out Gail Simon at one point. Well one point he was flexing his degree right at the time when nostalgia Critic was starting and you know the rest.
That's just sad. He's flexed a worthless English degree for clout and we all know where this ended up.
I hate to tell you this fam, but that wasn't a Missingno ripoff. That was the actual Missingno. The real, actual Pokemon glitch. And Linkara used this villain completely unironically. What makes this so much worse is that it didn't even have to be Missingno yet he did it anyway. The only reason the villain of the arc was Missingno was a tie-in to his review of Electric Tale of Pikachu. That's the only reason that makes any sort of sense. Fucking Linkara.
It makes more sense if you watch a video from someone completely unrelated to Channel Awesome.

The CA anniversary films, to their, uh, “credit” captured the feel of people that fuck around with webcams making something where they fuck around with movie cameras so they felt, how should I put this...true-ish to the medium and the site that made them, I guess.

The AT4W movie felt like a vanity project of someone who wanted to write himself like God. Maybe not Neil Breen levels of ridiculous, certainly in that same ballpark.

As someone who watched all the CA movies, I must admit I've never seen the AT4W movie.

Is it worth it?

You should only see it if you like things like Batpussy and Crazy Fat Ethel. It is a poorly-filmed poorly-written ego trip written by a Fat Manchild who somehow manages to make Chris-Chan look like Ernest Hemmingway.

Is it still watchable in a "so bad it's funny" kind of way or is it trying too hard to be pretentious and deep like To Boldly Flee?

The only funny part is where they march out a plastic high-school health class skeleton that they spray painted silver in an attempt to make it look like the terminator. Judging by the way its shot and scored you're supposed to take it seriously. The rest is just Linkara angsting for an hour. As I recall there's literally a part where he compares how much "harder" and "life threatening" his "adventures" are than the character shit the rest of Channel Awesome does.

I had the same question as you did when I set out to watch that shit so you can trust me when I say "not worth it." You might want to skip to the plastic terminator scene though, it's pretty hilarious.

There's really no redeemable qualities about the AT4W movie. And I'm saying that as a guy who was a fan of Linkara at one point.

There really is nothing enjoyable about it. It's a complete piece of shit through and through.

the dumbest part of the AT4W movie is it's a sequel to To Boldly Flee. Why would you make your movie directly tie into someone else's movie.
I can explain that. Despite Linkara's hatred of TBF, he's the kind of creator that would make everything canon. EVERYTHING. So in his canon, all of his crossover appearances and shit is all canon in the AT4W universe. Which would be fine (it is a comic book review show, might as well emulate comic book crossover continuity too) if he didn't take his story so seriously. If Linkara was the creator of Spongebob Squarepants, he'd try to make everything canon. Even if it doesn't fit the show.

I'm 100% convinced if he could insert Louis Williamson the wielder of the Linkara from his angel armor books into his reviews, he totally would. He was still writing these books in 2013.

Now someone is going to tell me he already did that.

"To be!"

Louis Williamson will never get inserted for two reasons: 1, he's a very obvious standin for Linkara and 2) Linkara would have to put in Louis William's big tittied Cat Girl girlfriend

1) and what is Harvey Finevoice'?
2) He did make iron Liz wear cat ears.

Only possible way would be putting it on VHS and sending it to them. Even then, I think they'd quickly realize some idiots on the internet are pulling a ruse and it would never make it into a video.

Actually this fits with him. Remember, his History of Power Rangers has only covered the American series and not the Japanese original, so it's not abnormal that his Sailor Moon fics from 2001 would use the dub names.

I think someone here even mentioned him getting butt-blasted by some elitist Sentai fans at one point.

I literally don't know other than it's because he's lazy and never improves his craft. He managed to get Doug to use his shitty stuff, and then I guess decided to just use what was already there for it.

It really is amazing to watch him turn himself fully into that gay ass mary sue. If I knew at the beginning that he was 100% serious with this shit, I'd have laughed at him and left.

Oh god, I just realized that Linkara was my Maddox. I thought that he was making this garbage fire plotline series as a bad joke and it turned out he was serious and is in fact still a miserable fat high school kid with the bad fanfics about himself.
