Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

So this wall of text was shared on Facebook:

Ilhan Omar has been a US Citizen 6 years longer than Melania Trump. Omar is from Somalia and is Muslim. Her family fled the Civil War and she spent 4 years in a Kenyan refugee camp as a child, until her family secured asylum in the US in 1995. She naturalized in 2000 at age 17. She broke every glass ceiling imaginable to become a U.S. Representative.

Melania is from the [former] Socialist Republic of Slovenia and is Catholic. She began modeling at 5 and became successful starting at age 16. She began working as a model in the US in 1996, initially illegally. She married Donald Trump in 2005 and got her citizenship in 2006.

I have no issue with either of these women being a naturalized U.S. Citizen. But only one of them is being told to "go back to their country." If you don't see why that is the case, then you, my friend, are a racist.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is 2nd generation on her mom's side, and 3rd generation on her dad's side. That is - her mother was born in Puerto Rico, and her father was born in the Bronx, but his parents were from Puerto Rico (AOC's grandparents). She is a combination 2nd and 3rd generation American.

Donald Trump is... wait for it... 2nd generation on his mom's side, and 3rd generation on his dad's side. That is - his mom was born in Scotland, and his father was born in the Bronx, but his parents were German immigrants (Donald's grandparents). He is a combination 2nd and 3rd generation American.

Only one of these people is being told to "go back to their country." By the other one, in fact. If you don't see why that is the case, then you, my friend, are a racist.

(Also, Puerto Rico is part of the U.S., not a country. All Puerto Rican citizens born after 1898 were granted US citizenship in 1917, meaning even AOC's grandparents were citizens, meaning even my calculations about 2nd and 3rd generation are not accurate - they were all US citizens.)

Ayanna Pressley is an African American, meaning she is the descendant of enslaved people brought to the US against their will. Both of her parents are from Ohio, a state that sits just north of the Ohio River which was the line between free and slave states, and to which enslaved African Americans frequently escaped prior to their emancipation in 1865.

She is being told to “go back to her country.” She has no other country to go back to. If you think this is an OK thing to say to an African American, then you, my friend, are a racist.

Rashida Tlaib is the first Palestinian-American woman to be elected to Congress, and one of only 2 Muslim women. She is a 2nd generation American, born in Detroit. Her mother is from the West Bank, and her father is from Jerusalem. Her father came to Detroit to work for the Ford Motor Company. She was educated in Michigan public schools from K-12, and received a Bachelor’s and Law degree from Michigan Public Universities. She was also the first Muslim woman to serve in the Michigan state legislature.

She is being told to “go back to her country.” She is a 2nd generation American citizen, born, raised, and educated in this country. If you think this is an OK thing to say to an American citizen born in this country, then you, my friend, are a racist.
---
Also, you are not my friend.

ADDENDUM: I am truly thankful that so many people appreciate and have shared this post. I hope that the larger point here is taken - that every one of these people is an American Citizen. A person's claim to "Americanness" is not an equation of time. None of us are from here, unless you are Native. It wouldn't matter if they had just received citizenship yesterday. A citizen is a citizen. A safe, legal path to citizenship needs to always be open to anyone who seeks it. The Trump administration has effectively closed this path. This poem is inscribed at the base of our Statue of Liberty for a reason!
THE NEW COLOSSUS
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
MOTHER OF EXILES. From her beacon-hand
Glows WORLD-WIDE WELCOME; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "GIVE ME YOUR TIRED, YOUR POOR,
YOUR HUDDLED MASSES YEARNING TO BREATHE FREE,
THE WRETCHED REFUSE OF YOUR TEEMING SHORE.
SEND THESE, THE HOMELESS, TEMPEST-TOST TO ME,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Dumb comparison. Melania is just someone who wanted to marry an ultra rich guy. She didn't become a cunt politician that is constantly assblasted that the USA isn't a third world country.

A better (but still bad) comparison would be comparing omar to ted cruz.
Also, he brings up Slovenia as being formerly Socialist, which means it's another one on the list of "countries Socialism failed in".

Omar is so entitled and ungrateful that it makes me feel ill. When her family was at the precipice of horrific death at the end of years-long trauma, the US saved her. This country and its people owed her family nothing at all, but acted out of Christian mercy and Western generosity to save her and her parents. Not only was she saved from that immediate harm, but she was welcomed into a country that had no obligation to allow her entry. Her family prospered, and she was given every opportunity that this bountiful land could offer - healthcare, schooling, and wealth. She was able to ascend to a position of power that even most native born Americans would never hold. In the war-torn Somalia of her childhood, such a fate would be disbelieved as an impossible dream beyond reckoning - and yet she was given this freely and openly out of love and mercy.

You would think that she would wake up every day with a song in her heart and praises flying from her lips for the country and people that spared her family and elevated her all for no reason beyond that it was merciful and kind. You might imagine that she would be humble in her service as a politician, to repay the nation that safeguarded her. You might think she would cherish and zealously defend the people that rescued her.

No - instead she spits in the kind faces that helped her. She argues that their enemies be spared. She insults and mocks the philosophies that motivated her own rescue. She demands power and submission. Like a child that throws a tantrum when the presents run out at their birthday, she isn't satisfied with a bounty of gifts freely given, and never will be.

One winter a Farmer found a Snake stiff and frozen with cold. He had compassion on it, and taking it up, placed it in his shirt. The Snake was quickly revived by the warmth, and resuming its natural instincts, bit its benefactor, inflicting on him a mortal wound. “Oh,” cried the Farmer with his last breath, “I am rightly served for pitying a scoundrel.”

Moral: The greatest kindness will not bind the ungrateful.

Are there really people who honestly thought that when Trump won he was going to cut all ties with Israel? like are there people that exceptional?

Those who elevate the status of US-Israeli political relations to the top of the "important issues" heap, beyond the economy, beyond border security, beyond everything else, ARE that exceptional. It's everything to them, they, like all good fanatics, assume it's everything to everyone else, and when a person without a strong history of party affiliation got to the top, yes, they erroneously assumed that an across-the-board political/military/diplomatic cold-cocking was a possibility......

Exceptionally dumb people believe in exceptionally unlikely outcomes.

I think Trump's done something brilliant with this. He's forced the Dems, during an election cycle, to prove that citizenship is easily documented and does matter to them. He's also lured them into admitting that they are more concerned with bringing in "the wretched refuse" of foreign shores (racist!) than they are with maintaining civil liberties and a functioning nation for those already here. They are openly declaring that they do not want to keep America great.

They are playing into his campaign theme.

Just my experience, I can't speak for everyone obviously. Last few years under Trump I noticed a change but that could been coincidental with changing bases around the same time.
I was only in during the Obama administration. But unless things have changed that much in the Navy and they no longer do six month deployments working 12, 16, 18 hour days, I doubt it's that different.

The more people have to work their asses off, the less likely they are to believe the government should take more of their money in taxes and give it to someone else. Nobody in the Navy is happy to work port and starboard (six on, six off) or five and dimes (five on, ten off) to support motherfuckers on welfare. That goes for E-1 to O-10.

Why do the Democrats think the average Joe is going to get two shits about reparations for slavery, something that has happened a long time ago?

It's just part of their Woke Marketing. It gets a big reaction on twitter, and despite Pelosi's recent bout of vague self-awareness about twitter reaction versus political power, the DNC in general is still letting itself be guided entirely by the biggest and loudest public reactions. Reparations plays well with the blue checkmarks and the gibs-wanting NPCs that reply to them so they talk a big game about it, either not realizing or not caring that it's going to be actively pushing even more people away from them. Some poor ass blue collar worker in a blue state doesn't want to hear that his taxes might go up because some people he maybe shares a general skin tone with owned slaves over a hundred years ago. It's a losing strategy but they like the noise it makes.

Edit: Oh, and it also fits with their "opposite of Trump" narrative. They call Trump a racist, so obviously they're proposing what is clearly the most un-racist thing ever, race-based wealth redistribution.

Because the Democrats still feel bad about it and they don't feel it was that long ago.

They basically act like they still own the blacks, in particular when it comes to voting.

If that’s a losing strategy yet they like it, that’s fucking delusional of their strategists. I’m been proven right that they are learning nothing from 2016, and trust me, 2020 is going to be worse. In fact, 2020 is going to be so worse, that the Democrats are going to have a legit reckoning with the SJW man-children cucks that have been in charge with the Democrat’s strategy since 2013.
