They wrote this to appeal to Twitter, not an actual Judge. I think that's the critical point that's making it hard for anyone rooted in the 3D world to comprehend their thought process.

This thing is the legal equivalent of an M.C. Escher sketch.

My understanding is this used to be the case until he moved to Texas specifically so he could be "closer to [his] work" but I'm not sure when he moved. It was right before the Broly movie, wasn't it?

He had moved out to California while he was dating Michele Specht and after they broke up he moved back to Texas.

Looks like Super Clown World 64 has finally been released to an applauding audience of Kiwis.

It was a mistake making this a VR game; it's bugged and I can't see the logout button.

Kara Edwards is a lost cause. I can't even compare her to the KoolAid drinkers, even they had shreds of doubt for their cause. She's like a Kamikaze pilot, unwavering, lost in her delusions. Too far gone, it's a shame really.

You don't get it, she was really traumatized by that White People Dance that she actively asked for.

When the TCPA motions fail, I'm curious how quickly they move to settle. I believe Funi will start talks before Ty walks out of the courtroom.
Not gonna happen. Remember: SJWs always double down.

So full Jonestown, huh? I can only imagine who the Jim Jones is.

For years they were all just trashing him behind his back and passing around shitty rumors like they were high schoolers, it's disgusting.
I came into this fully willing to believe that Vic had maybe been a naughty boy at times.

At this point, my takeaway from all of this is that Vic just found himself on the wrong side of a rotten clique. It's serious high school bullshit. Vic was "that guy" they singled out as the target of their gossip, rumors, and inside jokes.

Fuck, I come to this site to laugh at tards, not to get angry and invested in outcomes.

days before they unloaded on him. So no relationships outside his work ones. If they picked a time to deliberately F with his head that would be it. Makes Nick's comments they tried to drive him to suicide seem more than hyperbole.

yep, it's pretty obvious where the line is. Vic is an actual actor that can be put in front of a camera. The rest of funimation's talent is comprised of people that are made for radio. They're all resentful of that so here they are trying to tear him down for existing in their space.

It's crazy to see this much amateur action in current year. It's literally a time capsule of 2000s. Nowadays corportations are sanitized in terms of how they deal with their talent, PR, etc

Looking on GameFAQs reminds me that any stupidity can be defended. I still love that place regardless

swjs double down. Subsidiaries with giant international parent companies do what they're told.

I believe Casey and Lemontits know their only hope of getting paid is for them to be awarded attorneys fees. When their tcpa fails they will likely be given the best legal advice they can now afford, and that is settement.

and if they double down after that, and their attorneys leave for being unable to adequately represent their clients (No mon? No hun, we done) I think it's a real possibility that douchebag does actually seek that Texas bar afterall. Because he wants attention and that will gather it. And, oh Lord, do I hope he does. Because the entertainment he will provide via his blundering will be exceptional.

As mentioned previously, there is a discrepancy between the affidavits of Lynn Hunt (pg 310) and John Prager (pg 370) regarding Vic harassing Japanese singer Mari Iijima.

From Hunt's affidavit, emphasis mine:

From Prager's affidavit, emphasis mine:

So was it 2007 or 2010? It appears Iijima appeared at the con both years (as well as other years). So did Mignogna. AnimeCons.com for 2007 and 2010.

For answers, let's look at the affidavit of Whitney Falba (pg 329), the "Live Events Chair" for Tekkoshocon 2007. Falba does not mention Iijima. She does mention this story:

Where have I seen a story like that before? Oh, it was Hunt's affidavit:

Okay, so Hunt and Falba seem to agree that this incident happened in 2007, and if this happened the same year that the Iijima incident happened, then that means it happened in 2007 and Prager just got the year wrong. And one or both of them misrememberd exactly how many underage girls Vic apparently had in his room. But then why wouldn't Falba mention the Iijima incident if it also happened in '07?

I mean, it's all just… Are lawyers able to catch this stuff and go back to affiants and say "your stories conflict, so you guys need to remember what the truth was and rewrite these" before they file things like these with internal inconsistencies like these?

Also, has anyone ever reached out to Iijima to get her side of the story? Searching for "mignogna iijima harassment" or "mignogna iijima stalking" and ignoring recent articles returns this interesting Yahoo! Answers thread but nothing else of relevance that I can find.

Is it just me, or do all three of these stories seem to flow through or originate with Hunt? Who does in fact appear to be a crazy person. I wonder if anybody has thought to ask Ms. Iijima about any of this? You don’t suppose they have put forth a story without talking to the principal witness, again?

One warning sign in this. Mr. Prager refers to Ms. Iijima as “a female Japanese singer”. I keep finding that strange way to describe her. As it implies she was a foreign guest to the con being harassed. Ms. Iijima lives in Los Angeles. She is a fluent, near native English speaker. While most VA work is solo in their little closets, Ms. Iijima, if the 2007 date is correct, had recently spent several weeks in studio Interacting live with Vic while recording DVD commentary tracks for the ADV English dub of Macross. Once again, did anybody ask Mari? This Prager person claims to have had her room changed. Is there a record of this?

Stay tuned for Iijima's deposition where she, shockingly, confirms she's got no idea what's going on.

I mean it's possible it did happen but I just find this complete disregard for any witness to be totally vexing. Surely they've figured out any names are going to be asked for verification?

Except again, doesn't Vic do most of his anime voice-over work at his own studio?

I would expect these 'Vic Locks" to be there considering that there needs to be no external sound in the booths and that the ADR engineers shouldn't be disturbed when recording, but then what of the ADR engineers? Are they seeing anything? "Vick Locks", "Vic Whisperer", it's like Vic is living rent-free in these guy's heads.
Theory: they called them "Vic locks" because the locks were meant to protect Vic from them.

I went back through the affidavits to find how many of them were first-person accounts of harassment by Vic - so not counting accounts of "I heard about/saw Vic bothering someone else." I found three. So much for the hundreds of women.

AFFIDAVITS WITH FIRST-PERSON HARASSMENT CLAIMS
----------------------------------------------

293 Affidavit of Blankenship-McConnell

While a sophomore in high school and in a school play, Vic-senpai noticed me.
In summer of 1989, unvited me to his house to see Christian video but instead
tried to seduce me. After many rejections he became hostile. I left. I felt
scared when seeing him afterwards.

297 Affidavit of Kara Edwards

At Animazement in 2008, we had separate hotel rooms with a communal door
5 them. One night Vic gave me a long hug, then we went to separate rooms.
Vic knocked on door and called me; "nobody has to know." I went into bathroom,
literally shaking. At ShadoCon 2010, he invited me to his room to catch up.
He petted me and whispered in my ear and would not let me leave (No mention of
if/how she left this situation.) Another night he asked to come inside my room.
I rejected him. He lied about incident in the i09 article.

345 Affidavit of Kelly Loftus

At Kawaii Kon in 2014, I got something autographed by Vic for a friend. We
also took a photo together during which Vic was very handsy. We took another
photo during wich Vick gave me an unwanted kiss on the cheek.

Both the affidavits of Neysha Perry and Emmett Plant claim Vic did the hair-pull-whisper thing to a Star Trek cosplayer at a con in 2013, but there is no account from the cosplayer herself.

Kara Edwards unironically said "literally shaking". :story: Are those guys for real? From what I've seen Funimation is like high school for adult retarded children. All the pettiness and backstabbing.

First Stan, now Iijima...their incompetence knows no bound.

While it is perhaps an odd way of describing her, it is accurate, and I actually wouldn't be surprised if she were to describe herself as such. That said, the lack of an affidavit from her is notable. She's never been all that involved in the anime industry; she does anime cons every so often and did a couple of anime songs outside of Macross, but not much else. It's possible that they (Ronica et al.) haven't attempted to reach her because they have no idea what she'd say.

As to the hotel room...the hotel might have records of it, but I wouldn't trust an anime con to have accurate records of anything from last year, much less 9 or 12 years ago.

Vic and Mari both attended Anime Central 2008 in Rosemont, IL. No stories of him stalking her there.
