He is some kind of hippy jesus lower, not a real christian.
Some song and dance is no Sunday service, those services are very strictly regulated.
do it right or dont do it at all, working is better than a wrong service.
He's Evangelical, I'm pretty sure, and the Evangelical movement definitely had a hippie phase as they erroneously believed that the secular's issue with Christianity was that it presented as organized religion and the solution was to eschew organization and make a false dichotomy between religion and lifestyle by misinterpreting what the former means.
All that to say is that he does what he knows (or knows best). We can argue the particular merits of the Evangelical mindset and praxis, but that's putting the cart before the horse when it's clear that people take umbrage with him even identifying and operating-- if even only superficially-- as Christian, because they have very clear contempt for Christianity and by extension, Christians.
