Just signed up to post on this thread. I'm a massive fan of most of Phelous' stuff. And unlike most commenters earlier in the thread his animation reviews, (especially Dingo,) are my favorites. The only thing I watch more of is RLM. Super depressed about Brad and Lupa's falling out, because the reviews with all three of them were especially choice.

Brad's wife came across as a crazy in the text convo with Lupa, but Lupa comes across as an almost neurotic drama queen in everything else posted. I'm guessing low-self esteem gives her massive anxiety when arguing and being rejected that can only be salved by waging unending war with the evil forces of people who don't like you. Brad can be chill about a lot of things it seems, but also has his triggers, namely whatever woman is in his life.

Do you know how little we know about the private lives and political ideology of the RLM guys? Do they ever go on massive twitter screeds of shitposting screencaps of facebook messages from months ago in an endless clusterfuck of hesaidshesaid? Why can't all YouTubers show that much restraint?

I've noticed a massive slowdown in Phelous' content and a general lack of enthusiasm in his videos in the last couple months. The 'affected' depression seems less and less feigned. Think the drama is getting to him?

In Laura's defense it was the day of her dad's funeral also a little context after Lupa left Channel Awesome outside of Phelous no one did more crossovers with her than Brad and it was definitely meant to help boost her numbers not his as she needed the help more than him. Then you have CTC and Brad's only "crime" was not leaving CA he didn't go off on CTC publicly until after the swatting incident and for that he and his family was getting harassed which included rape threats and the swatting event on the day her dad's funeral. So if my family was being targeted for harassment and it's the day of my dad's funeral and all I want is for someone who my spouse has helped many time to try and build their career to put out a statement asking for their supporters to stop these attacks on my family and they refuse and try to play coy yeah I'd probably sound crazy too in my response heck they'd be lucky if I didn't threaten to beat the shit out of them to boot.

Exactly. Laura was wrong to blame her so directly and venomously for the swatting. But if the shoe was on the other foot, Lupa would probably do the same.

Just makes me depressed. I want to be able to watch the Puss N' Boots review without knowing Lupa went full Anakin on Brad a few years later. Hope Phelous gets through the bitchstorm unscathed, ideally with his working relationship with Brad still intact.

I would had agreed at the time but given how she now regularly loves to stoke the flames and aligns herself with people who do videos on Brad I don't know anymore if she wasn't always happy he got harassed.

Yeah, though I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I remember it like this - relatives of her husband didn't want to give her his ashes, because they blamed his death on her or something like this. What I do remember for sure is that she took part of his ash in an amulet for one of these walks right after he was cremated.

Yeah, but that was a blip in the #CTC saga. The big thing about her was that she said that she was fired after getting a surgery, Doug was the deciding vote to give her the axe, and apparently she had to leave the state due to a no compete clause. Nowadays, she’s a content writer for various websites. She’s a mod/admin for a Facebook group for ex-CA members/internet reviewers in general that I used to be a member of. Last I heard of her, I saw on her Facebook page was that she posted links to the parts of Linkara’s audio drama.

You can blame Lupa's little puppet Cinematic Venom for Brad being targeted. He seems to get his jollies by attacking Brad. Sad that Brad had to close his twitter account just so he can get some peace.

She probably made that all up. It was supposedly her "fiance" that died, but for some reason she didn't find out he had died until months later(?!). The family of this dude had never heard of her. She showed some really old picture of herself with this guy as "proof" they were together. You could tell this was decades ago, as she was a normal looking person and not the 300lb behemoth she is now.

Someone tweeted her theorizing that CA benefited in the long-term after the initial #ChangeTheChannel backlash largely wore off. They basically suggest that the other contributors were a burden on Doug's Chicago crew and them leaving was ultimately a good thing for Channel Awesome. It's probably not a good idea to highlight a tweet that kind of points out you were dead weight but Allison tries to spin it with a "Channel Awesome never helped us in the first place so nothing has changed at all!" angle.

If anything, CA is a shell of its former self and they’re stuck in perpetual stagnation. And nobody’s really going to touch them with a 30 foot pole. I’d say that’s punishment enough: doing the Critic until he just decides to bow out. Unfortunately, that’s not enough for some people and they wanted Doug Walker to get more desperate as the subs keep going to zero and he’s driven off the internet.

When I hear people like her and Lindsay say that they regret all their time at CA I know they're full of shit. Lindsay has her audience because she started out as the Nostalgia Chick. She CHOSE to do that, if she didn't want to she could have done something else and who knows, maybe today she'd be considered some YouTuber on the rise.

As for Lupa, poor girl. Hardly anyone knew who she was BEFORE CA and after hoping that people would flock to her channel she barely makes a blip on anyone's radar. I'll admit her Baywatching videos are pretty funny but it'd be better if she could make a buffer or something, release stuff weekly, every two weeks. The stuff she puts out now, is it any wonder that she resorts to Twitter drama? It gets her attention she wants and it requires less effort than her videos.

Say what you want about people like Doug or Linkara but they actually put in a decent work effort. The stuff that they make is crap but...credit (however small) where it's due.
