We all know about the various hypocrisies and illogical statements of Ben "Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings" Shapiro, but what I believe is far more insidious are supposedly "conservative" or "right-wing" news outlets (like Reason magazine, the Daily Caller, or Prager U) or personalities or even politicians advocating for policies and actions that only serve to hurt Americans (or, at least, middle or working-class Americans), while corporations benefit immensely.
Take, for example, the 140 Republicans that voted for outsourcing high-skilled tech jobs to India and other parts of Asia:
There is also a lot of weirdly leftist social policy that some of these supposed "conservatives" want to adopt. For example, Republican Dan Crenshaw saying that it's a "good premise" to "punch Nazis".
I believe that we are witnessing the birth of a new type of neoconservatism, a Millennial, social media savvy, corporatist, and even worse type of neoconservatism than the type that dominated Republican politics during the aughts. This "second wave of neoconservatism" absolutely will sell out, and sell out the futures of the middle and working class, to mega-corporations and international financiers, all while playing with social media that they're defending American interests as they do so.
