Furry Fandom and Drama General

Christ man, and I thought I was bad for getting around to it between 1500 and 2000 notifications.
I thought my nearly 70K notifications were impressive before my submission notifications were halved...

I have an account that has accumulated over 2 million notifications (to have fun with this very issue with FurAffinity), and they haven't purged any non-submission notifications as far as I can tell.

They also said they planned on removing old notifications YEARS ago and they never did.
As long as they keep using this shit code, this problem is going to persist.
I have an old abandoned account that literally has 137167S on it right now.
It always baffled me how they didn't include features like automatic deletion of old notifs, a notif cap, or even a way to mass unwatch people when you feel you want to cut down your notif feed. It's so fucking basic.
I dunno. There's been so many startup sites trying to get into the niche of needing an FA alternative that is actually modern and works better. Nabyn, Weasyl, FurryNetwork all that. I don't think they really worked as well as people thought they might. They were hyped to hell then faded into obscurity to the point no one even links them as their portofolios anymore. People struggle with change.

There's also the fact that an actual competator to FA will probably be the only thing to actually force them to get their shit together. There is no reason to update FA because wheres everyone gonna go; Their only real competitor in terms of functionality is DeviantArt, and even it's userbase has been dying off over the past few years thanks to social media. Which is baffling since both of these sites are way better for hosting and sharing artwork than twitter or whatever else.

Maybe its time to just old yeller FA and end it's suffering.

The big issue with most FA competitors is the same one that fucks over upstart social media sites. Successful social media sites need content and users, and as the last few years have shown the only real way to get users these days is the double edged sword of recruiting banned users from bigger websites. The reason Inkbunny has users and activity unlike FurryNetwork or Weasyl is the fact that Inkbunny caters to a demographic banned from FurAffinity (in this case cub fetishists). At the same time, it drives away furries who swear that they will never use a website that merely hosts cub art. Almost nobody uses Inkbunny because it's technically superior, they use it because FurAffinity bans cub and Inkbunny doesn't.

Other websites can't replace FurAffinity's userbase or amount of content, even if some content is lost over time from furries nuking old profiles. Even if furries leave FurAffinity to take a stand, they always come back in a week to have a presence there. If furries try to start a new art site in this current year, there will likely be furries making strong demands like what happened with the Furry Network cub ban flamewar but multiplied thanks to identity politics.

There's also no real "general art site" that allows adult art, Tumblr filled that void to a degree for a while before the ban and that had the issue of being a social network. If there was one, furries would end up using that like with DeviantArt. Newgrounds exists but that has the old "dying web 1.0 relic" reputation. The only thing that's really managed to compete with FurAffinity are social media sites.

Is there anything I should know about Zapdiamond? He seems genuinely nicer than a lot of the others in the whole 'Bluecatriolu' clique and I have not seen anything about him, but he's everywhere and I feel there has to be something I don't know that I should. I know he's much into sex and quite close to many different people, but I have no clue about this person. I just see that he's really OUT there.
Use the search function.

I was on 8Chan/fur browsing some cancer for lulz, when I stumbled upon this. I think you folks may find this hilarious as much as I did.

That is straight up some pedophiliac fantasy of "corrupting" own "children" with sexual deviancy, this person should unironically be disallowed from coming in contact with any person younger than them.

This is entirely because I follow one single person but even as I commented on it once, I've gotten like 30 notifications since. Fandom twitter is losing its shit over some lesbians apparently claiming to be so, while dating a god damn born man. That was apparently the last straw in underlining how fucking absurd this "sexuality cus it sounds cute uwu" trend is. I think the general gist is that being bisexual or pansexual isn't cool because you're either just like "whatever" or inexperienced.

And of course we know that all those hung girls on the internet have had a bonk with every imaginable gender, so they're the authority on this. I can understand saying you're a lesbian to confirm your transgirl "girlfriend"'s identity, but it also invalidates their struggle? "No sweety you're a girl, you were just born ahead of the start line, im a lesbian ;)".

The same stupid shit Prawst has been pushing. "Gonna freeze my seed so I can become a cute lesbian mom".
