Funny thing is he grandstand does not even work.
Even if you put aside the fact murder is a bit worse than defamation, you have over 30 dead, and who knows how many wounded. Let's lowball at 70?
So when thier collective GFM reaches over 23 million, then THEN it outdoes vic in fundraising.
And I feel a bit dirty even going into this horrid technicality and honestly doubt why I did it.

Over 30 people dead with loved ones who now have expenses that need to be paid for their burial, not to mention the loss of income to their families. Those costs add up a lot faster than Vic's lawsuit does. It would make sense that this, because it's likely had a lot more signal boosting as well, is going to go higher faster. It's charity over a massive loss of life. The fact they feel the need to make this about Vic in any way shows an obsessive quality to them.

So? One of them is for a huge fucking disaster where dozens of people literally fucking died. Of course people are going to donate more for that. Not a single KV person resents that at all.

Vic's GFM isn't competing with KyoAni's, it's dumb to try and make some message out of the relative success of the two, support of Vic and victims of arson aren't mutually exclusive. Support of KickVic and Vic however, are. The relative success of Vic's GFM and any KickVic GFM are indicative of public opinion on this gay-ass culture war, so the comparison is justified and, considering how much more successful Vic's has been, bragging is justified too.
