Today I have... Thread.

Today I snapped a pin on a brand new Ryzen CPU but managed to salvage it using an old Intel Celeron processor

What did you do with the Celeron?

Depending on the pin it might not be a big deal. Putting the pin in the right part of the socket and it might make contact with the CPU clamped down on it. Electronics and computer components are like the human body, sometimes it survives falling from an airplane or getting shot/stabbed repeatedly, other times a whiff of a peanut kills it.

I would be interested in hearing how that worked.

Today I mowed the lawn, fixed an old laptop, and played Tropico 2: Pirate's Cove. Am I a bad person for putting the brothel next to the church?

Saw a troon for the first time in this city (a ftm who wasn't even trying to look manly). She was FUCKING CREEPY (:_( It doesn't help that she looked like me, but with a pube beard (:_(
I still don't know how to react if I ever met one. I don't know any locally thankfully, but I'm sure it'll happen.

The wraith cooler that comes stock with Ryzen CPUs is screwed down with spring-loaded screws, I tightened them all and decided I wanted to flip the cooler around so that the wire was in a better position. When I started unscrewing one of the screws, it suddenly sprang up (I'm assuming cause of how much pressure the springs were causing) and ripped the CPU out of the socket (partly due to the cold thermal paste that comes pre-applied to the cooler, which sticks super hard). I've read online and apparently it's a pretty common issue people have

I unsoldered a pin from the celeron and used popped it into the cpu socket, I can still take it back out as it tends to stick to your finger or can be picked up with a very weak magnet. Either that fixed it or the pin that was snapped off was not used for anything important as I have had no issues using it so far.

Also, Today I went to visit some family :)

Received one of two webcams in the mail, the reason for two is a bit of a weird fault of my own, cobbled with an eBay seller who suddenly went dark for a few days and the eBay item number was erased from the site, I thought I was fleeced so I ended up buying a second webcam as a replacement from another seller, which will come on Monday possibly, so apparently the first webcam already came to me before I could try to ask eBay for a refund or whatever. Oh well, at least I have a spare I suppose, and I didn't spend more than $20 each (they're both the same model, a Logitech C615), it might give me an excuse to stream with two cameras at the same time if I try!

Today I received my second 2080 ti. I managed to convince the retailer to accept a return of another I bought second hand. I downgraded a ftw3 to an asus dual oc because I already have one with a water block.

Therefore I am nvlinking an air cooled 2080ti with a water cooled one. 19c vs 78c full load. I have the pc balanced on a sub woofer while I work on it.

Bruh, you should have bought a Mac...

Today I have some coffee to drink, errands to run and an ISP to verbally abuse.

It has been hot as hell and mosquito-infested, so I've been staying inside and teaching myself how to make jewelry and tbh I'm digging the understated rockhound aesthetic I have going with these.

Sorry for the shit lighting as it does the semi precious stones' colors a huge disservice. My grasp on color theory is functional, but only when I'm not intentionally throwing off the pattern to mess with my wife. (The pyrite-snakeskin jasper in the second pic is the only one, though.)

Today, after a wild 4 day trip full of ups and downs, I finally lost my 500 dollar bankroll in Vegas. Oh well, gonna get as fucked up as possible before I have to leave tomorrow. Other than that, fun trip!
