One of the things I never really understood about him was how his belief system is built around two separate, completely opposing ideologies that are in direct conflict with one another. He tries to be a "feminist SJW" but also a "conservative Christian" at the same time.

I thought you guys would want to see this video for a song made for his 200th episode where he reviews One More Day. If anything, I think this shows something: if you're going to do some big epicness (for lack of a better word) in your review show, you need to take a page from James Rolfe and Doug Walker and establish that the review is a separate persona from who you are normally. And I think that's the thing a lot of the TGWTG producers didn't understand, and a lot of them were just them normally or their personalities exaggerated/mugging for the character.

I got through 1 and a half chapters and fuck it I'm done. Was his book actually published by some company or was it self pubed? If it's just him then it's just below average fanfic (like the majority of FF & AO3), but if it's profesional - fuck this. Everything is coated in smug. I get that it's YA and teens think smug is cool and powerful, but still you have to throw some redeeming shit there. And it doesn't help that everyone is smug (at least humans) to the point when you could've confuse the dialogue if Lewis wasn't the one who talked more than the rest and wins arguments. He also does a funfic-mistake when he spends almost all of chapter 1 on everyday bullshit, because "that's what movies do".
Another thing that makes it fake, his character fallows the voice in his head and only questions it when the voice leads him to a bad place and does it in a very "mandatory" way. He writs it as if MC knows about the book and just kinda scared for the reader.

Also I find it rather interesting that the college girl was named Abby and the girl in Angel Armor is named Amanda. Really makes you think.

And I don't mean it in a "Christian equals good boy" sense. I mean it in a "your beliefs and actions have nothing to do with Christianity at all". I know it's been pointed out how some denominations are more liberal. But, wasn't Linkara's branch of Christianity the "bible-thumping" conservative kind?

IMHO, Linkara's main issue it's not that he has power fantasies. Many people do. It's the fact that he tries to pass his Power fantasies as some kind of high art.

To give an analogy, in your average single-player RPG everyone is kissing your ass and telling you how awesome you are because you are the protagonist. Which is fine as you're the only one that's supposed to be having fun.

What Linkara is doing is the equivalent of expecting real people to admire his characters as if they were NPCs in a videogame.
