Well here is the CBC interview finally. I have three takeaways:
1) Rhys ends up looking like the lunatic he his, even with what I assume is "nice" CBC editing.
2) CBC actually seems to be trying to be non-partisan here. Not sure it was entirely successful, but this was better than I expected.
3) Holy SHIT he looks doughy moving around on video. Like fucking chubby as all fuck. No shit he placed "well back" against the men. Though he probably did that as on purpose as he could knowing he was being recorded for CBC.

I think it's more than just poverty too. Many black cultures from various parts of the world (specifically the Caribbean) are homophobic as fuck. Lots of Jamaicans in north america and they're well known to be some of the most homophobic people on the planet. In Iran, they force gay and lesbian people to transition or be jailed/put to death depending. Even here in the west you read articles about catholic parents who were simply distraught at the idea that their kid might be gay but "come around" to the lgbt community when they realize they can just trans the kid. Transition is a way out of being gay for a lot of people and I think that explains part of it too for many of these black trans prostitutes.

Probably not actual testosterone, but any number of anabolic steroids, sure. Anavar/oxandrolone can be taken orally and has relatively mild androgenic effects compared to its anabolic effect, which makes it a popular choice among the gay twink Crossfitter crowd. I could see troons going for it for the same reasons. Rhys isn't muscle-mag ripped by any means, but there are plenty of flabby juicers out there -- it just means he can't be arsed to watch his diet.

He's said several times that he has had "genital surgery," and has said that he required one revision surgery due to complications. He was writing an anonymous blog at the time--he blogged about having scheduled a trip to Thailand, ostensibly for the surgery. But there's a long gap in the blog (4+ months) during the time he said he was going. When he resumes posting, he claims to have had the surgery.

He does NOT discuss any specific details, he didn't make any concurrent blog entries while in Thailand, and he never makes any kind of references to it anymore. It's certainly possible he's lying and is still 100% intact, but most people here think that he did have some kind of surgery. It's possible that the intentionally vague term "genital surgery" refers to an orchiectomy and not full on SRS. I also think there's a possibility that he had SRS that was seriously botched and he's embarrassed to talk about it.
