TGWTG Linkara / Lewis Lovhaug - HMMMMMMM? (Dead Gay Muppet Gangbang)

It wasn't that. He claimed it's to prove he can be clever without having to use four-letter words, sort of an opposite of people like AVGN and Nostalgia Critic who base part of their comedy around profanity.
There was a Spoony stream of Pathfinders about 10 years ago and Spoony has his instant messaging open. He got a message from Lewis and you could see it was full of profanity. His aversion to swearing is just an act.

There was another time where he was in one of Nash's videos and there was a behind-the-scenes thing at the very end. Nash, Linkara, and whoever else was in that video were improving a line and Linkara said "fuck."

It wouldn't bother me so much if he didn't put up a whole show about it. LGR is another guy who rarely swears (I think I've only ever heard him say "fuck" in one of Guru Larry's videos), but he doesn't act like it's a big deal.

A family friendly image that he's hoping will land him the big gig he's always dreamed of. What that gig is, I have no fucking clue. At his current rate and views, he's headed towards getting his own cable access show made in Utica.

Which is ironic when you compare him to the AVGN, who has a decidedly family-unfriendly image and yet has more success. To say nothing of the various porn accounts that used the same username.

That's the thing Lewis has no endgoal because he's like a vampire sponge. Eragon gets big? Hey I'll write my own Adventure Story where I'll get back at that bitchy cunt Amanda and get a sweet catgirl Waifu! Penny Arcade gets big? Hey I'll make 2 internet comics based on the concept of the first superhero that will be a loving homage to things I love and support! AVGN gets Big? Hey I'll make my own show where I tear apart comics I find crappy and fight demons!

The guy is the definition of a bandwagon jumper and the fact he stopped at Atop the 4th Wall shocks me. Given Lewis's literary prowess I'm shocked we didn't see him try his own version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Well follow the clues... The guy wrote a book, tried to impress a comicbook writer Gail Simone, inserts "storylines" in his videos, storylines that meant to emulate comicbboks, every other video he bitches about how HE knows how to do cumix correctly. I think the guy clearly wants to be the writer that gets to boss around other writers. He wants to have a universe other people will gush about and even write stories in. Sortoff a game-master, Tolkien, Comicbook creator type deal.

Linkara, Comicstorian, Comic Pop, even Comics Explained all seem like people who couldn't actually break into the industry so they created YouTube channels which are just platforms for them scream "look at me" to Marvel and DC.

Comicstorian, Comic Pop, and Comics Explained at least have better production value and are able to draw in a much larger audience.

They also made the wise choice of being informational channels when the comic film boom went into full swing unlike Lewis. I'm not saying they aren't smarter than Lewis just all them are thirsty as hell to be working for one of the big two in comics.

If we are talking about comic book youtubers may I recommend ComicsTropes and CosmicComics

In a crowd of comic youtubers where you have lots of people who know how to film and do post-production, Lewis is barely known. I think, the majority of comic youtube know Lewis as "oh yeah, I saw his videos about X years ago. Is he still going?" The fact Lewis likes to 'pick on' comics and highlight only the negative, and most of the time goes after comics that have the same literary importance of, say, a Shoney's placemat, made his irrelevence even quicker. He also has been known to disregard his viewers' suggestions... unless they pay for him to review something(for years, he refused to read Invincible).

Yep. They are all read-out-loud trash who exist to supply Instagram normies totally legit fans #NoGatekeeping with "deep facts", like radioactive spider-cum. There are no good comicbook youtube channelles out there, only read out loud trash and indiegogo trash. So if you want to get into/continue read comics I recommend to ignore everything about 'fans'. Comicbook community is busted harder than the industry.

Young adult novels and webcomics he was doing while still living with enablers mama and papa lovhaug. Once he was on his own soaking up that sweet sweet Skittle money on blip, he moved out without thought of longevity.

He was doing the show for almost 5 years when the rug was pulled and didn't really have anything else. He was out of college, in his mid 20's and was making... Let's say survivable money with a loyal fanbase to stroke his ego.

His own mental ticks and being a slave to routine locked him in the rest of the way. Why does he keep at it? To quote a shitty movie, 'There are levels of survival we are prepared to accept.'

And don't believe he would happily work retail again. That's a facade. If he could accept being a Walmart greeter, he would've been one the instant he knew he owed back taxes.

When was that boom? Wasn't Linkara's first video in 2008 when Iron Man came out?

I think most of us agree his attempts at writing fiction are horrible. But, out of curiosity, what's your opinion on his reviews?

I think at least someone said they liked History of Power Rangers. And I guess he did manage to create the "I am a man" meme.

I tried watching a few back in the day. I found him painfully boring and his idea of comedic moments just awkward. Funniest thing he did was his Irate Gamer parody, and that only got a half-hearted chuckle or two from me.

No one cares about his reviews; they're diet Nostalgia Critic...and Nostalgia Critic is already pretty shit.

The only reviews I've been able to tolerate from Linkara are his reviews of Marville and a few of the Tandy/TRS-80 computer Whiz kids comics and that's mainly due to him letting MST:3K, Dr. Who and other licensed media do most of the heavy lifting in the joke department. Other than that he's pretty nauseating.

I'll say this for his reviews: They're not bad. I actually like some of his older stuff but on the whole, not bad. Never drags it out unnecessarily like Doug Walker did with Nostalgia Critic and I've heard he's going to be reviewing some recent shit from DC on his show so that'll be fun to watch.

I watched his Amazon’s Attack, Countdown, and Holy Terror reviews. I never cared enough to get an opinion of him, but I’ve found that there aren’t that many things that get a righteous rage that transcends his character like Doug had. Only One More Day and Holy Terror were the times I think he’s gone beyond snarking and seemed to have a seething hatred/aversion to what he was reviewing.
