Terrible inventions

The Jawn Henry: What happens when the engineering department executes a good idea extremely poorly. The Norfolk and Western Railroad was a famous coal hauling railroad that didn't want to convert to diesel power because they could get coal cheaper than diesel oil. So they decided to make a steam-electric locomotive as a way for them to use coal but still MU wiith the diesel power of interchanging railroads. Now Steam-Electric locomotives have been done succesfully before by just having the steam engine drive the dynamo to get the train moving. Unfortunately rather than doing that simple option the N&W engineering department decided to make the exact same mistake that the Chesapeake and Ohio and Union Pacific made and made the Jawn Henry a steam-turbine-electric locomotive, which resulted in a locomotive becoming a maintenance nightmare. While there was talk of scrapping the boiler and replacing it with a diesel engine it was instead decided to just scrap the machine. (Also before I get corrected by UPFags, the Union Pacific Steam Turbine locomotives were different from the Gas Turbine locomotives, which burnt Cheap Bunker C oil)

IIRC most people tend to die from smoke inhalation so the toilet snorkel makes a ton of sense especially in tall buildings. You can sit there and hit your toilet bong waiting for the fire department to rescue you while your dumbass neighbors choke to death.

I do see a certain amount of sense in this, but the problem for me would be that if the fire crew are too slow and I die anyway, it would look like I was some kind of pervert who died because he couldn’t stop smelling poop, even while my house burnt down.
