Megathread British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal (BCHRT) - All initial BCHRT related material goes here, including updates on current hearings.

How the fuck did the RCMP not confiscate this?! Some security the HRT has.
So, crazy racist pedo guy turns up at a legal hearinng with an illegal weapon, admits to having said illegal weapon, and the security guards, instead of taking it off him and reporting it to the police, give him the fucking weapon back at the end of the day, like mummy holding little Henry's teddy while he plays?

This is beyond a farce. If you wrote this as a comedy sketch it would be rejected for being too ridiculous.

Maybe DC ruled that possession of pepper spray is “gender affirming care”.

3-4 months? Is that a normal wait for a human rights tribunal decision, after all the evidence has been heard? Or is Cousineau just trying to stall for time in the hope that there won't be so many eyes on her and her judgement in 3-4 months?

This whole kangaroo commission stinks like a week old fish in the sun.

Part of that time is because there are appealable issues that have (iirc) a 60 day window. It would be improper to hand down a decision before those windows closed even for a kangaroo court.

No judge likes having a higher court slap them on the wrist for fucking up procedure.

Please do not do this. No one should talk like this here.
This, and his belief that the labia minor is hairy as well shows the amount knowledge this dainty little lady has about female anatomy. It's the average knowledge of the Virgin incel who was never within arm's reach of an actual clothed woman. Let alone a nude one.
The labia minora can actually be hairy. It’s very gross however is considered to be ‘normal’. I’m not sure if it can be waxed though, it’s very painful when I’ve tried to pluck it out before.

I took a look at a few of the most recent post-hearing decisions here, and the range of time from hearing to decision was 1-3 months. I've just looked at the ones produced since then and those are in the 7-8 month range, so it seems 3-4 months is not unusual.

Just to lay it out clearly for those just tuning in, the “women get wet sometimes during waxing” thing is a direct attempt to counter the “men sometimes get erections while being waxed” thing the expert said. Unfortunately for Jonathan, that’s not how it works and even if it did (let me reiterate that is does not), that’s still a woman’s bodily issue and is not the same as dealing with the boner of an aggressive predator.

And also the women have every right to refuse a client, even if it is due to religous concerns or even transphobia. They do not serve a life saving service, where you have to put up with nasty shit, to safe a persons life. Even if Johnny-Boy the superwoman claims otherwise. They do not have a monopol over crotch waxing. He already was at a studio that provided him with some ball waxing as the cosmeticians had the training to do so. He could have stayed with them. But that is not what he wants. And it is not just trans-women who can have waxing refused. Already women with skin rashes and stuff can get refused. Or imagine if you have a woman how is not that strict about hygiene.

Okay, if it is a 500 pound Amberlyn or Tess or Chantal body type you will have most likely a "Whaaaaaaaa, bodyshaming, fatshaming"-lolsuit on your ass. It's a horrible farce. And I don't envy anyone who has to put up with this shit while living in an environment, where everyone pisses their pants in fear of upsetting one of these assholes.

If that was her intent, it wouldn't work, as long as Yaniv keeps on stirring up shit (which he will).

This reminds me of an incident a few years back where a guy accidentally brought a pipe bomb through security at the Edmonton International Airport (he forgot he had stored it in his camera bag), and the "officers" inspected it and offered it back to him before he boarded the airplane, which he wisely declined. It then was placed in the security office for several days, during which time another "officer" played/tampered with it, before someone with some sense clocked in, saw it, and contacted the RCMP. It looked like a cartoonishly stereotypical pipe bomb, by the way, it wasn't ambiguous.

In the ensuing fallout, a representative for the security company tried to claim that the reason they responded that way was because they didn't have peace officer status, and argued they should be given it. Which makes zero sense as they could have used their citizen powers of arrest in that situation and turned him over to the RCMP (and those clowns wanted *more* authority after that show of incompetence?). Plus it doesn't explain literally trying to arm him with the bomb before he boarded the plane.

In any case, I mention this because I think this Yaniv situation is a similar example of complete incompetence from security and they didn't know pepper spray was a prohibited weapon. Hopefully the RCMP get involved and actually do something for once.
