No matter how positive it is, the announcement will only be a means for him to try to convince his audience they owe him money. First he makes the announcement itself a stretch goal, but then whatever it ends up being will just end up itself being a sort of financial goal. He really is turning findom into a science.
And his audience will happily pay whatever Phil asks. These pathetic people not only watch Phil play video games for many hours each day but pay him for that “privilege.” I think Phil’s a pretty awful guy, but is he really victimizing anyone of worth? It’s like feeling bad for the pedophiles who get ganked in prison. Go Phil go! I want to see this man streaming until he dies.

Phil bitches and whines so much that when he actually has some good news for once he makes an event out of it. Exceptional

I can't shake the feeling that Kat really is pregnant. I mean think about it, he said he didn't want to get married (said he couldn't do it several times iirc), then he got married. Said he'd never have kids (I always thought he just couldn't) so for some reason I get the feeling he's having a kid.

IDK how laws work in America, but let's say she is pregnant hypothetically, whether it's his or not, would she be entitled to the house in a divorce? I'd imagine the courts would favor her if she brought up the whole situation. He invited her on stream knowing she'd be made fun of, constantly antagonizes people making his (their) life harder, has a 2nd home so he wouldn't be homeless. It just feels like a judge would take her side when all his shit got aired out.

I wish I knew more about divorce law in the US because I can't shake the feeling she wants a nice comfy home and the best way is through Dave.

I believe the state they live in makes it so she is only entitled to things that were acquired after the marriage began.

Why would he consider that "hugely positive"? A kid is just another bill to him.

Where does he even go from here? Paywalling the announcement of the announcement? Pay to get access to his Twitter which gives you the link to his Patreon where you pay to get access to announcements about streams where you can pay him? How is this man constantly innovating in the field of begging?

Man he somehow finds a way to limbo under the bar no matter how low it is. Good news behind a paywall. Usually his big announcements are just things he should have done years ago but was too lazy to do it. Either that or it's some special stream so the fans are essentially paying him so he can announce another stream where they can pay him again.

I'm guessing this goal is different from his sub goal, otherwise he would've said sub goal, right? Has he mentioned any other goal?
No. He explicitly stated on multiple occasions that the sub-goal for this month would be the "rageathon", and "unless people step up and sub, or a generous party comes into play", he's not very confident he'll hit it with just 2 days left (counting today).

His most recent tweet is the first time putting his positive announcement behind a paywall.
Quite frankly disgusting, no matter how you look at it.

No? I can at least still see it.

i guess i was seeing another post that was deleted then

He hypes it up soo much, anything less than a baby will be a disappointment.

Its probably a new pet.
i put money on it not being something physical he can show
and the announcement being very vague
then another paywall

honestly, putting good news, an announcement behind a paywall
phil is the EA of streamers

The interesting thing about this is that there is no stated reason for the goal (aside from the reveal). This is another instance of Philip setting himself up to be a hypocrite. People have asked for a tip goal several times, and Phil stated it was disingenuous to have a goal when he had no idea what the overall goal was. Previously it was for tax payments or the like. And there was a period (apparently not his worst financial crisis as that is supposedly now) where it was $200 a day for bills and to prep for taxes. Now it's just The Goal. For what Phil? By you own fucking words, this is disingenuous.

Further, I believe this is the first specific goal presented since the secret unholy pig/horse union. To me this suggests Phil is aware that the wedding news was relatively ill-received and that he couldn't pull another proper beg until it had cooled down. He must have gauged that to be the start of August. Now, just ahead of Hardcore Begging Season (which remember, is the season where Phil supposedly eases up on the begging), he is testing the waters with a marathon that actually has some kind of reward. One that he tacked on for appeal because he clearly didnt plan to do this last week when he teased the news.

Regardless of what the news is, this is completely scummy to tease it as he did and paywall it. If it is positive for the audience... how can he hide it? Let's say the news is that there will be a giveaway. If they dont meet the goal to get the news, is it going to get cancelled? So he's either as stupid as his audience that didn't think that through, or the 'news' doesn't actually affect anyone but him. I think unloading the CT condo is the most likely thing based on the way he is approaching this.

correct. only things purchased after the marriage will be divided between the two of them. she cant get his house or his car (unless he signs them off to her unrelated to a divorce). so far she gets half of his gout cream.
