Because instead of admitting that their policies lead to abject failures, politicians--especially ones from Democrat 'strongholds'--shift all blame externally in order to try and paint themselves as the saviours to garner even more votes while they pass more "feel-good" laws that just lead to further deterioration. Case in point: Chicago. Chicago politicians had teamed up with the ACLU to push all sorts of utterly pointless feel-good laws into place, and as a result the
murder rate rose 68.5% higher than it had been in the previous decade.
Instead of fixing their cities, Democrats
always double-down because the Democratic 'machines' that run these big cities have the perfect combination of corruption, ideology and incompetence that weave together into an absolutely useless clusterfuck. Rather than admit that their policies don't work and put in the work towards fixing policy failures, it's much,
much easier for the Democratic Machine to blame the GOP and the NRA. Think about it, if they really wanted to put an end to gun-related crime, why are they cracking down on the guns
instead of the crime?
They've had
decades to prove that they cannot fix the criminal problem. If they tried to do that, they would automatically come under attack from people within their own ideology as being a "bunch of racists." Guns have no race, so they're easy to attack. Cracking down on black criminals preying on the black community in your city? Yeah, you can see why a Democrat might be hesitant to throw their hat into that ring. The fact is, these city leaders are paralyzed with fear. They are ideologically bound to these failed criminal justice policies. Their pride will not let them admit that they were wrong, and their commitment to political correctness means that they reject directly going after black criminals in black sections of the city. The
instant that there is a sharp uptick in the number of blacks being arrested and imprisoned in their city, all the usual race-baiting suspects are going to rally on the steps of City Hall and demand these new Gestapo tactics cease immediately.
So, they end up in this intolerable situation in which they keep stalling in order to “give the policies more time to work” and hoping vainly--despite all evidence and experience--that the problem is going to somehow get better on its own without them having to take any risky or costly steps. The Parkland Shooting is a
perfect example of dysfunctional Democratic policies at work.
The county and the school pushed in policy after policy that just piggy-backed on top of each other until it had reached the point where an
unbelievably dangerous person was just allowed to walk around and do whatever they wanted despite repeated visits from the local police and even the FBI. After their dysfunctional policies resulted in a mass murder by a teenager who'd
literally had the police called to come deal with him over 35 times, and who failed to enter the building to put a stop to the shooting spree, what did Broward County officials do?
Called up CNN and hosted a town hall meeting to blame the NRA!
It wears people down after awhile. Year after year, decade after decade everything just kept getting worse. You can't complain about it because you'll be called a racist, you can't fix it because the entire system is corrupt, you can't live in it because you or someone you know is going to wind up getting killed, and you can't escape it because the welfare state has you nailed in place. Then the same Democrats who've put these people in that situation keep right on with their charade about how they're
"Workin' hard for you!" People stopped even trying to complain about it any more. It didn't do any good. They just lost hope.
But then something happened that really,
really was
not "supposed" to happen, and then we started seeing glimpses behind the curtain when Sessions started
sending task forces to places like Chicago to pull down Federal charges on violent criminals so that the corrupted, local policies no longer had a say in who got sent up for a long haul. Then we started to see all of these offices being raided in places like Baltimore and Chicago and San Francisco, and that's not "supposed" to happen either. The fix is
supposed to be in; all of these people leak this kind of thing to each other so that all of them know when something about to go down, and yet none of them ever saw a single raid coming.
Now we're coming up on the precipice of an
actual solution to the problems in these cities, and the Democratic Machine doesn't want that to happen because it ruins their grift, so they're going to rev up the engines and start throwing all of the slander they can find at the person causing it, because it's always sent critics of their policies running in horror in the past. Problem is, that's not really going to work this time because they've spent so long blindly firing that ammo away for the last three years that it's become completely meaningless.
I mean, what are they gonna' do,
call Trump a racist?
