Not many front page articles are funny, but there's at least an attempt to be funny in the writing. I'm not seeing either, here.

Compare this to a front page article written by the same person in 2013. The premise is literally identical--Jeff Foxworhty "you might be an [x] if you do [y]" jokes but set in a post-apocalyptic future. It's an intentionally stupid premise written without vitriol. Compare this to that article, where it's instead just impotent whinging without even an attempt at a joke, written with genuine anger. It's amazing how politics just makes people's brains fall out.

But they aren't attempts at jokes, a joke is a story with a funny twist or a clever play on words.

Random snippets of grotesque imagery thrown together in no particular order isn't humor. You can rearrange the first and seconds parts of those "jokes" with any of the others and the effect will be the same.

"If the gibbering outer darkness closes in around you and the only light you have left is a butane powered by your own chitlin farts...you might be a redneck."

Literally anyone could write that stuff.

To be fair, is there going to be any websites that will still be relevant after 20 years?

YTMND is dead for example, the imdb boards are gone, Myspace is long irrelevant, Facebook is no longer popular among young people, Netflix is starting to struggle, what will 4chan, Reddit etc be like when they turn 20?

It may be that websites have lifespans, which may be about 20 years, I mean think of how old 20 years is in internet time, the internet as we know it today is only 26 years old more or less.

The one big exception I can think of is Amazon.

Oh and Kiwifarms of course, we will never not be relevant. :)

The truth is that SA was never funny. I thought the forums in the early days had good Photoshops but that was it. Zack Parsons is as bad of a writer then as he is now. That’s why his writing career never took off despite several attempts. Water finds its level eventually.

That's interesting to think about. Thinking back 15 years, every website that hasn't become irrelevant or obsolete has been taken over by craven leftists looking to push an agenda, namely Google and Wikipedia. Amazon sort of counts, too, but they've transformed so much they're not much like they were 15 years ago.
