To be fair, the sinking of the Lustitania by a German U-boat was a driving force. It was pretty much a bunch of civilians getting killed as a result of the War. Seeing civilian deaths really gets to people. That’s why some people were in favor of invading Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11. I’m not saying either were entirely justified, but it wasn’t just nothing that got people involved in those wars.

Yeah, the Lusitania was literally loaded up with explosives, since it was shipping arms to the UK.

What was truly exceptional on the Germans' part was the Zimmerman Telegram, however, trying to get Mexico to invade the USA... while Mexico was caught up in its own Mexican exceptionalism that the USA had already invaded them over

Bernie, you are allowing people to flee the broken societies they have created, exporting their broken societies into a functioning one and turning it into the gang-run kleptocracy they came from. Send them back, make them fix it. While you're at it, send our #squad and Feinstein to help them fix it. They're such great leaders, shouldn't be a problem.

You can't allow those people to come in and undercut wages for citizens while standing with the working class.

Listen here niggers. It boils down to this: Germany did some real boneheaded moves, but it was not unprovoked. The US was arming the British/French Alliance - the Luisitania was loaded with weapons and ammo for Britain, Zimmerman telegram was meant to get Mexico to fight the US so they'd stop shipping arms & supplies to their enemies; Especially once Russia exited the war, the Germans could have just ground down England/France if they weren't getting resupplied by the US.

What European (and later Japanese, though Yamamoto tried to warn them) war planners failed to account for was the size of American output. I'm trying to not fall down a historical causality sperg hole here, but despite the result of the Spanish-America war, the US was still viewed mainly as a 2nd rate Argiculture/Raw materials nation, and German command hadn't adjusted to the reality that the US had enough industrial capacity they could have whooped mexico without a dip in shipments to Europe.

Only 2.5 out of the clown car of 20+ candidates raised their hands when asked if they would willingly would use Medicare instead of buying private, and they still want to all collectively shove this shit down our throats.
