he more or less goofed when he brought it on his podcast. Don't know if that would really make him a "gateway" to the alt-right. It’s pretty exceptional to call someone a Nazi for disliking firebombing, a tactic that is notorious for killing countless civilains and pows for the sake of total war. Without a doubt, a place like Dresden being a major hub would justify it being a target. The nature of the tactic used on the other hand can be justified in being called out if one were to follow laws of just war and all, what with the casualties though I can imagine one could come up with the justification of firebombing.

Most of the effective opposition to the liberal internationalist world order comes from right-leaning nationalism moreso than the left-of-center, although that wasn't always the case. Plenty of radical left, especially anarchists, openly opposed capitalism throughout the '90s, but that has since been neutralized. Today, most of what passes for the radical left in the industrialized world largely consists of glorified socdems. This alone explains the popularity of Chapo Trap House and surprisingly mainstream support it receives. Of course, that would require admitting that arts and entertainment reflect the surrounding culture more than shaping it, which would be a terrible blow for the vanity of most entertainers.
