reddit General

Somebody snuck into their discord and uploaded their selfies to /pol/. https://archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/221266302/
It looks like the same person read a bit about them here and started an ED article. https://encyclopediadramatica.rs/User:CHUD/Chapo_Trap_House

I'm not sure if this is enough for an OP though

Regardless if there is or isn't, always make sure you archive before posting links, 4plebs responds to takedown requests and ED has had to change urls more times than anyone's bothered to count.

As far as making a thread, if you want an example of what makes a good community thread, check out https://kiwifarms.net/threads/map-nomap-community.59084/, it was just moved out of the Proving Grounds today. It sounds simple but remember your five Ws (who, what, when, where, and why) and that the purpose of the thread is two fold - entertainment and education. Give a bit of the history of CTH, why they're funny, and what they're doing now - using individual members to highlight the points you want to make is a good way to show representative examples of the whole. So long as you put the effort into gathering info, archiving it, and writing a legible thread more senior members are usually happy to provide assistance once the ball is rolling.

I had a post gilded and got access to /r/lounge for a month, in addition to whatever else it is you get. Is there anything worth bothering over with this? Just curious.

Could be legit, meth users are dumb even among druggies. The only dumber ones are inhalant huffers.

Meth users are pretty low on the druggie IQ scale, BUT they are pretty streetsmart.

There’s no way even a tard-meth user would think it’s a swell idea to give his non-drinking, non-smoking gf a bag of meth as a Valentine’s Day present.

This user on 4chan posted a story about hopping onto Reddit and reading about a woman's boyfriend who begged her not to get an abortion before completely leaving her and raising the child himself. She then disowns the child and supposedly everyone on the Reddit thread was praising her and calling her boyfriend a scumbag.

I first saw this screencap a while back and I just assumed it was just some generic 4chan tall tale used as an excuse to complain about Reddit.

I didn't realize the error of my logic, as I soon discovered that 4chan is less prone to exaggeration than Reddit is to being repugnant.

What's enough to make my skin crawl is not only was the 4chan user not exaggerating. He actually made a complete understatement. People aren't just cheering her on, they're calling both her boyfriend and her child scum. What surprised me even further is that, while I know a large portion of Redditors look towards abortion with disturbingly gleeful admiration, they seem to have extended this to the child who is twelve years of age, acting as if the child is still subhuman. Just to get an idea, here are some of the top rated comments:

Now, compare to some of the lowest rated comments. Some of which even agree with the thread's poster, but maintains that the child deserves to at least know who their mother is:

I'm aware it's a tired argument to suggest, "what if the sexes were swapped!?" But what if we were to do just that--and tone it down, even? Imagine it was a man who didn't want a child at all, but decided to conceive one because his girlfriend wouldn't stop begging, with the girlfriend making the promise that she'll disappear from his life and take the child with her once it's done. Then, over a decade later, the child wants to meet their father and the mother contacts him, and he refuses while disowning the child. This very Reddit would have his head on a pike.

Also keep in mind that this woman is an untrustworthy narrator, as to be expected for any personal story told online. There's every reason in the world to believe her involvement in the situation is much worse than she's willing to present to an audience. She's most likely either lying about some details or leaving them out to make herself look better, and she already looks horrible.

Reddit is very big on not forcing people to become parents. Every thread about a woman cheating and the OP had a kid with her at least all the comments are about getting a paternity test, people think it's totally not an accusation of cheating if your demand a paternity test when you have an unplanned pregnancy in a long term relationship, and recently misinformation about how to abolish your parental rights in the US has spread like wild fire. (it's probably more like one crazy person on AITA, I don't make it a point to remember names)

You need a third party to take on the rights, don't sign consent forms to be recognized as the legal father if you are unmarried, and no because your ex said she wouldn't come after you for child support but now you are being sued doesn't make her a two faced bitch, it's more likely she filed for state assistance and state filed the claim. The state wants two parents to buffer the cost of the assistance they provide, they won't just let you go "welp I signed all the forms to claim this child as my own, but I don't wanna be a parent anymore :(". It would be blatantly hypocritical if reddit did not extend their pro get-out-of-parenting-free belief to apply to women.

The only times they get on fathers who don't want to be so is when they guy admits to not using condoms or the child was born of an affair. Yes it really does suck that married couples have automatic assumed parentage, but that also (may) extend to married same sex couples. The latter doesn't have much information on as gay marriage in all states is still new.

Redditors are subhuman garbage. Change my mind.

Redditors will suck the clit of any woman for woke points, no matter how repugnant her behavior.

Back when I had a Reddit account, I was talking about how my dad divorced my mother for being a legit narcissist, and emotionally and mentally abusive to him and us kids. He won custody, and made a great deal of sacrifices to bring us up right in a loving home.

But it's Reddit, where everyone seems to be that edgelord kid with daddy issues, so since I wasn't singing the praises of "stronk womynz!" like they saw my mom as, I had multiple people wishing death on my dad, and cursing my siblings and I for not supporting "the parent who gave you life"

That entire site is a burning trash fire full of the most myopic, knee jerk reactionists you'll find online.

I'm always a little conflicted when I read subs like r/relationshipadvice or r/sex because 99% of it reads like autistic fanfiction but on the other hand given how redditors are human dumpster fires it's moderately believable that two reddit posters in a relationship would end up like that.

No people are that shitty. My dad used to tell me of stories of women straight up gone when they got back from deployment. The one that stuck in my head the most was one women who basically conformed he was getting back into port that day drooped their kid off at daycare(i think he was 3 or 4) and packed up anything she could fit in the car and disappeared. When i mean disappeared I mean closed the bank accounts, didn't leave a note, did not mention it to any family ect.

I wouldn't be surprised the type of women who would do such things would infest reddit like to try and valiadte thier shitty behavior. I think Reddit due to how people intreacts allows these type of people to thrive

I used to be torn on whether I felt Reddit or Twitter was worse but after careful consideration, I feel that Twitter being nothing but shit takes and wokeness bumps it lower because at least Reddit has a few small niche subreddits with useful technical information curated by the useful type of legitimate autists. (Though it's not much of an endorsement to say "Reddit's almost tolerable as a social media site so long as you remove the 'social media' portion.")
