I can't help but notice all of them say pretty close to the same thing as 'I'm proud to call these brave women my friends' and then include the title of the article, the CATEGORY, and the name of the publication. All of which can be found just by linking it with the preview. It sure looks to me like someone handed them a script and it was non-optional. Adding things like 'I'm blocking meanies' seem to be okay, but not changing that bit.

strange thing for non-conspiring independent contractors to do.

Also this whole fake outrage is stupid. This isn't a #metoo thing. Vic didn't rape either of these idiots even if what they're saying is true. The worst things that happen to them is Vic kissing them/climbing on them briefly or being overly pushy about 'let's bang Kara c'mon' and then being catty later. And this isn't them taking HIM to court and being forced to relive things. This is A DEFAMATION CASE. They aren't being brave. They talked crap and now they're getting hit. If they were at all telling the truth this wouldn't be a news story, they'd just slap him down with a TCPA and move on as he steamed helplessly.

A final thought I have to wonder about. Nick has made it clear that there's supporters in hiding either to avoid harassment (like apparently Stan now being called a rapist) or because Sabat will have them fired (like he threatened with Todd), but how long until they move this to the Trump hysteria, where the VAs aren't allowed to be quiet? Where they will be forced to speak out against Vic to 'show solidarity' or be fired/attacked because their silence implies they're for Vic?

This is actually the main reason I started watching as well.

They were in full-blown hysterics mode where all accusations had to be believed when they not only had no evidence, but were being caught hoaxing every five fucking seconds and successfully got a ton of people to realize they were full of shit based on that alone. I had one of their supporters respond to my shitposting account, and admit that I was right to doubt considering the mountain of evidence that showed that they had nothing other than baseless accusations. That's a fucking weird sign - when you're in a position where your ardent supporters are starting to actively desert, leaving only the Autistic true believers, you have something amazing brewing, but the fact that they kept doubling and tripling down just is absolutely mesmerizing to witness - I've never seen anything like this.

Even during GG, where we had some shatteringly autistic shit to laugh at every 20 minutes, we rarely saw even the most psychotic of the Anti-GGers pull shit like this. Usually, once a major talking point got exposed as absolute bullshit, they'd back away from using that specific one and use a previous, slightly less egregious one instead (though their mouth-breathing followers usually would keep using it because Autism). Here, it's the fucking mainliners that are pushing this disproven bullshit.

Absolutely bizarre. And the salt harvest we're going to see is going to be fucking magnificent.

Go for it. This is glorious. Who are the guys, and is the dub any good?

I might get crucified for saying this, but in my opinion it was one of the greatest dubs ever made. It was grotesque, offensive, appalling, and hillarius. A very Faithfull translation and portrayal of the original Japanese version.
Of course, in retrospect, maybe the reason they worked so well playing those characters is because they were terrible people. Your not meant to like Panty, Stocking, or Garter belt, they are positively reprehensible.

You know what's funny? The narritive KV keep trying to spin is that we're just die hard fans of Vic who can't separate the art from the artist. But A: I prefer subs to dubs, and B: Of the few dubs I really like, most of them involve the defendants. Now I never new anyone's name, because I don't care that much about dubs. But technically, I was more of a fan of the defendants than I was of Vic, and I never even heard his name before this whole KV thing started.

But yeah, as everyone else has said in this thread, just stick to subs. They're objectively better in like every way, and there are a number of Japanese voice actors whose careers are actually worth following such as the extremely talented and hillarius Mamoru Miyano, who voiced Hyonin Kyoma in Stiens;Gate. Ironically our boy J.M.Tattum voiced him in the English dub, and who'd a thunk it, he did a shity job. Mamoru Miyano has more talent in his month old discarded pub shavings than a thousand J.M.Taintums.

A theory I've seen brought up on KIA a few times is that the era of Social Justice is fading. The pendulum is swinging back -- Nationalism is on the rise, Trump (and Trump analogues) are winning across Europe, Gen Z isn't buying this shit, et cetera. At the same time, these people aren't getting the same reaction for their virtue signaling that they used to.

So you have a case where they have to be exponentially more woke to get any of that sweet, sweet dopamine, and even then it's simply not working.

They're dopamine addicts that have gained a strong resistance while the supply is rapidly drying up. We have not yet begun to see the spergout. When Trump wins, when there is a purge of academia of Grievance studies, when the corporations decide pretending to be woke isn't worth it and they start censoring the radical left and firing their diversity consultants, you're going to see these people lose their goddamned minds.

If there’s one thing I don’t like about this thread is how we lapse into autistic sub vs dub debates.
Yeah they’re horrible people but I’m not going to suck off random Japanese VAs. No offense to Mr. Miyano.

The VA's are speaking up now because if the media attention grows they want to be on the right side of this. Whether to protect their careers or because the bigger lolcows of the MeToo movement might bring their audiences to bear on this topic.

Honestly, I think any action Funi takes is probably going to hurt them, both in the short and the long term. Since ultimately they either: a) fired a popular actor on dodgy pretenses or b) protected a popular actor for years before finally doing anything, the only result once Vic's out of the spotlight is bad PR for them and a probable loss of a good chunk of money. Sony will likely do some house-cleaning to save face regardless of outcome.

What I'm saying is that doubling down might not be a smart move for them, but I'm not sure if there are any smart moves left. I mean, I suppose from a practical standpoint for the execs, dragging out the court case as long as possible might be good, since they're unlikely to get fired while the lawsuit is still ongoing. Maybe that's their strategy?

The smartest move is to settle with Vic because he understands the concept of mercy. Give him a pile of money, give him his roles back, fire everyone involved with the debacle and renounce their investigation.

The SJW's are going to draw, quarter and roast Funimation if the lawsuit fails. They did protect a predator. They will be under the thumb of Renfamous and Marzgurl. I doubt that they would be above extortion using the threat of bad press to make demands.

There are no good moves for Funimation, only survival. Funimation upper management either looks like fools or they get systematically replaced like pod people.

Holds a panel praising Vic, saying how much he's done for him and he can't thank Vic enough. Then posts this on twitter:

J Micheal Tatum will have a highly credible rape/sexual assault/creeper accusation come out. He'll have creepy texts, nudes or something on him that will come out after this settles, or even before this settles and this case is actually lost for the defendants.
Let's talk about the piece of shit hypocrite J Michael Tatum. Keep in mind he also liked this tweet early on:

1564928718406.png

Here he is kissing Ian Sinclair at Anime Detour 2013. For context, Ian agreed to do a kiss for a charity auction but his body language speaks for itself.

Tatum talking about humping a microphone stand during recording (per Ian's direction because Funimation is professional), and then when he's asked to show the audience he says "I will show you but Ian has to be the microphone stand" and proceeds to pretend to hump the back of Ian's head.

Talking about recording "awful sexual things" for Todd Haberkorn to hear when he comes in to record and how "it worked" because Todd avoided afterwards. Tatum has said many times in panels that he has a crush on Todd and called him his "backup husband". Also in this video Tatum says the worst "bomb" another VA has left for him has to be told in an 18+ panel.

Following a skit with Vic and Fat Marchi where Vic spilled some water on Tatum, at 7:15 Tatum jokes "Vic Mignogna made me wet" causing Vic to almost spit mid-sip.

Talking about taking his pants off at the Funi studio and recording in his underwear "to mess with Ian"

There are more videos out there of Tatum making sexual jokes to colleagues and fans while on panels if you search him on youtube and can stomach listening to him long enough to find them. But kissing a fan on the cheek for a picture is "wrong and unprofessional".

One may think that is probably why he's forced to NPC for Monica and Marchi. DO THIS FOR US OR WE WILL BURN YOU DOWN JUST LIKE WE DID WITH VIC

Should we start a countdown for these smoothbrains for when they realize that Vic isn't the one being taken to court?

Nice to see that faggot McCockgobbler has found the stones to crawl out from behind his protected status he was so quick to run to after his dox came out. Should be really fun watching him be emboldened by this piece of shit article.

Scott Adams pointed out that outrage mobs all sound the same. They'll use the same words and reinforce each other.

They sound the same because they are the same people and always have been.

This goes way back to the proto-SJWs in the environmental movement and here's where their power comes from. Side note: You will see the exact same thing in modern SJWs/groups.

In the beginning, (church organ music goes here) the left created the environmental groups as a front for their communism as it was more easily injected into the western way of life. The Sierra Clubs of the world begat the Earth Firsts and the Greenpeaces...and the left looked upon its creation and saw that it was a path to power.

And Lo! it came to pass that each of these groups all had the same members to well into the high percentiles (In thy mercy.)

But those people are ALSO members of the left wing political/cultural groups outside of environmentalism. So while it seems to the untrained eye that there are 100,000 greenies, 100,000 feminists, 100,000 animal rights nutcases, 100,000 ANTIFA and 100,000 insert leftist/SJW/Communist group here, There are really only 100,000'ish people appearing to be millions.

The smartest move is to settle with Vic because he understands the concept of mercy. Give him a pile of money, give him his roles back, fire everyone involved with the debacle and renounce their investigation.

My apologies. What I meant wasn't Funimation as a business entity, but the key decision-makers within the company. For them, settling quickly and apologizing might not actually be the best choice, since they might be the ones getting fired after they settle. In their case, fighting the "good fight" and going down in flames might actually benefit their long-term job prospects more than capitulating. If they capitulate, they admit to total incompetence and nobody will want them; if they fight and lose, they can at least try to spin it as fighting to protect women or something and somebody might buy into it.

Now, for Funimation itself, the best approach is (ironically enough) to apologize, promise to do better in the future, and hope that any goodwill they have left will carry them on in the future (assuming Sony doesn't just fold them into Aniplex or something).

Ultimately, I'm not sure if it matters too much in either case. No matter how much the people in Funi might want to fight to the bitter end, I don't think Sony will allow something that could lead to that pesky "employee/contractor" issue being explored by the courts. They can want to double down all they want, Sony's probably going to force them to settle if the TCPA doesn't make it through.

Yeah they’re horrible people but I’m not going to suck off random Japanese VAs. No offense to Mr. Miyano.
A: it's a scandal involving the dub industry, so sub vs dub is going to come up.
B: I was responding to his question as to wether it was a good dub.
C: I described my take on sub vs dub to establish that I am not a Vic fanboy, as I don't even like dubs and
C: Miyano is not some random voice actor. He's easily the most recognizable and distinguished in the industry. In the context of Japanese voice actors he's about as big as it gets. Would be a bit like calling George Clooney some random actor.
