Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

One of the biggest issues are people like Monica and Marchi claiming this is a Me too thing when it isn't.

Casuals see that and immediately side with them despite it not being a case of me too.

Originally the idea for he movement was a positive one, of speaking out against rape and sexual assault and finding a support system.

Then it was destroyed when people like these opportunist snakes weaponized it.

Making hit lists of people to accuse and hide behind a movement. Watering down what rape actually is and changing terms of sexual assault to fit in their experiences so they can exploit it.

Sadly too many actual rape victims spend more time defending the movement from people calling out the fakes, instead of paying attention. Seems people willfully ignore the people using the movement for personal gain, because you gotta tolerate everyone or else you are just as bad as a rapist.

Such a joke
Unlike Vic, Todd is still working with Funimation via his contract (With them not announcing terminating their contract with him, despite Thotmore crying rape back when this started) and WatchMojo still features him doing the Anime Top Ten lists despite a few chimps sperging at them in a blue moon.

Very interesting that they still haven’t terminated it, even if Todd debunked Thotmore.

Because it wasn’t the fact that fans and consults accused Vic of anything that got Vic fired. It was voice actors that did that.

Todd only got accused of it by a nobody consult, so there probably was no investigation or anything.

Personally, I'm not one of them. I'm more soured on the main players' work rather than the dubbing in general. I will still support Aniplex, and Viz since most of their actors have distanced themselves with Funimation. However, I don't blame anybody that stops watching Funimation all together.

Funimation did actually have good dubs back in the late 90s and early 2000s, i.e. .hack//SIGN. Now, the dubs are just pretty subpar at best, probably because better voice actors moves on to video games and other stuff.

Yea, there’s no way Vic going to be working at Rooster Teeth or Funimation anymore because it seems like the majority of voice actors who works with him in those studios hate him now. And even if in the off chance Vic is acquitted of all of this and goes back to working there, these people won’t work with him and might leave Funimation, like with what happened to Chris Hardwick.

Has Haberkorn done anything for Funimation since this shit happened? All he seems to have done is voice-overs for video games since this.

That's a very bold assumption. I feel like it's a small herd of people who hate Vic this much which caused this mess. Certain notable figures are big fish in a tiny pond so they can cause some real damage if they wanted. But who would really want to even work for RT or Funi at this point because Funi is the lesser of two evils it seems. Qrow being gone is just one bullet in the many upsetting RT fans so that'll be fun to see the backlash go off. If I were a VA though, I wouldn't say anything at all on this matter even if it would cost me my job. It's possible Sony will clean house with Funi because this has cost them well over a million dollars in profits already. Also, I'm pretty sure all those people who hate Vic probably won't be working in the industry because their value certainly took a dip. Rial may as well kiss her career good-bye from all the lying she's done and the beautiful exposure in a court case will be the cherry on top.

Hard to believe Troy Baker and Laura Bailey got their start there.

Of all the great Funimation VA's from that era, Vic is the only one who didn't completely move onto video games and other work, mainly because he's an actual anime fan and appreciates the fandom, unlike Rial or especially Marchi.

I get the feeling that Vic truly enjoys his job, because with his resume and the critical acclaim of several main roles he voiced (Edward Elric in particular), he could have easily moved onto video games and Western animation a long time ago but has mostly stayed in the anime industry.

It's sad that he ended up getting defamed by a few bad actors in that industry, but at least he is standing up to them and fighting back by taking them to court.

Guys, I know it's a meme and all, but I think we have legit hit the mythical slow down.
It's going to be a long boring month while we wait for this TCPA hearing. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but possibly another month before the judge make a ruling on said hearing.
We are going to have to milk this Dallas news ark well past the point of bleeding nipples unless Ron Toye kills Monica in a jelous rage or something.

Edit: kiwi farms auto corrects m.i.l.k to tard cum...... Brilliant.

She just was a guest at LouisiANIME earlier this year:
WAIT, hold up..

"When not costuming, she volunteers her time with CASA LA and The Foster Bunch which are both organizations that aid children in the foster care system. As she grew up in the system, this is something she is really passionate about."

In addition to be a liar, she has this similarity to a certain lantern-jaw narcissist..hmm

I'm pretty sure .hack in general was dubbed by Bandai back in the day -- it was license rescued by Funi a few years back.

What a fucking faggot. Seriously, these people are wastes of flesh.

Also what happens what Sabat's skeletons come out of his closet?

A lot of the former Funimation VAs have been picked up by a lot of companies but I think the only one who was picked up by a big cooperation is Travis Willingham who works for Disney on one of the Disney Junior shows. He got out of that cesspool of Funimation as soon as he could because he probably saw some of the inner workings of the company and the cliques and decided to get out of there.

After all of this is over I think Vic should shop himself around to bigger companies that would be wiling to take him from Funimation. He's a good guy who was dealt a hand that consisted of snakes and women who didn't want to be rejected by him.

To be honest I am wondering if Monica and Jamie have tried pulling this same shit with other male voice actors who they feel don't march to their SJW agendas or ones that turned them down for dates.

One question though: Jamie's buddy J Michael Tatum is probably trying to stay on Jamie's good side in case she tries to #MeToo him for not being on her side. I heard that he and Vic were best friends for years.

I take great joy in the fact that people are calling him out for trying to virtue signal when they asked him a straightforward question.

I know, but in general I would've thought that if somebody accused your employee (Contractor, whatever) about rape that they would terminate Todd faster than if not as fast as Vic to avoid scrutiny due to giving a so-called rapist a job in their company.

But hey, Pridemore losing everything before court was way fucking funnier and her tears were cathartic.
