I'm pretty sure I'm done with american dubs after all this.

I hope that the dubbing companies enjoy what they have wrought (with the help of their 'super stars') I'm in the demo that they WANT, enough money to buy their crap and a passing interest in anime. Oh well more money for eventual retirement.

I'm done supporting SJWs, I stopped buying gillette (and damn it sucks for them that they took an 8 BILLION dollar write down) and so on. I don't normally excessively tweet or try to get others to stop, but personally just stop giving them money. Same with TV and movies, I cast MY vote with my wallet.

Look, this is just Funimation. I'm not sure about the other dubbing studios and what they're like since their "regulars" have been quiet. But, I can understand your desire to go back to a simpler time in anime.

I had an experience yesterday which sums up my main problem with the metoo movement.
For context I work as a security guard/bouncer at a number of bars in my area. I have been for a while, so I know most of the other local security and how they operate.
So it was about 1:00 am, and this girl and two guys come up to the door. I give them my standard "I need to see your IDs first, and the cover will be three dollars" speall. Now after fumbling in her purse for like a minute, she tries to give me five bucks, and I repeat that I need to see her ID first, and she then starts fumbling for like another whole minute for that.
So I'm suspicious that she's drunk now, so I shoot out my standard line of drunk filter dialogue. I ask them how their night has been, and one of the guys responds "not so good", oh yeah, why is that? I ask, "she was sexually assaulted by the bouncers at xxxxxxx"
So what happened was she was drunk, the bouncers told her to leave, she didn't, so they escorted her off the property phisically. I guessed as much at the time, and when I asked later that was exactly what happened.
So I told them they couldn't come in, as she was visibly intoxicated.
I've had girls pull similar stunts on me. There was one occasion where a girl was trying to enter through the exit door to skip the line, and after I didn't take her bribe she squeezed in close to me and claimed I was trapping her against the wall.
Now whenever someone is defending the metoo movement they always argue that "she has no reason to lie, nothing to gain".
My problem with that is YOU HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHAT IS GOING THROUGH SOMUONE ELSES HEAD. The motive could be financial, political, maybe they just hate the guy for personal reasons, maybe they're just fucking crazy. I have zero doubted in my mind that Ether money changed hands in the kavenaugh case, or a future political position was promised to the accuser, because some third party didn't want kavenaugh in office. But no one considers that, they just continue to spout the bullshit line "what was in it for her to lie?".

If people are willing to accuse you of sexual assault just to get into a bar without having to line up and pay the cover charge like everyone else, or because they don't have a valid ID, or are too intoxicated to get in, what on earth makes you think they would be unwilling to do the same for other equally petty selfish reasons.

If the police took what drunk collage girls said at face value me and every other security guard on my street would be registered sex offenders.

It's like @HTTP Error 404 said - the machine is breaking down.

The tactic they deployed in the past was to shore up one another's offenses and then create the feedback loop - their buddies would create hit-pieces which they would then link to other hit-pieces, and then still more. The idea was that in the absence of facts, they could screech loudly enough and have fake facts established that they'd then all be able to point at and go "YOU SEE, WE'RE RIGHT!!!1"

The fact that no one outside these screeching tards took this seriously was seen as no big deal, since all they needed to push forward was the air of legitimacy and enough bad press. Once a target was stupid enough to apologize - and they usually did in the face of overwhelming pressure - they were automatically guilty and the usual suspects could tighten the proverbial noose while keeping pressure on.

Thing is, it's not 2014 anymore. Worse, Vic never admitted shit, so they can't rely on his own word to condemn him. All they have is outrage, and with the normal sources that would have shored up their attacks now out learning how to code, there's nothing else beneath it. They can't admit failure; that would make their own turn on them. They can't simply back off, since that would be basically handing Vic not only the win, but a cudgel everyone could then beat every single false accuser on Twitter with.

The clown car is breaking apart, and they're desperately trying to keep what they can together before they go down with it.

Ok I think there has been a misunderstanding here. I wasn't saying that because someone is a fan of Vic they don't count, I said that was the argument that KV were using, and my counter was that it is a poor argument because many in ISWV including myself weren't even Vic fans.

Where they will be forced to speak out against Vic to 'show solidarity' or be fired/attacked because their silence implies they're for Vic?

Unfortunately thats not true anymore. It used to be that way for sure, however the people currently holding the positions of power are largely business grads that were taught social issues trump financial considerations.

I know an MBA who was taught, several years ago, by a professor that would bankrupt a lemonaide stand. And the social first types are now in every company and in every industry. The boomer/GenXers that put profit over dopamine hits are retired or about to.

Conservatism in business is all but extinct in 'current year.'

At some point the bills won't get paid and stuff won't get done so the company loses competitiveness.

I think RocCon will be great. My wife and baby girl are accompanying me. I've been to cons before but never cared about meeting celebrities or other people. It was neat enough just to see them from afar. But with Vic I want to personally give him my blessing. People aren't perfect. They fuck up a lot, and badly. Forgiveness is in very short supply, and I've found that no matter what someone may have done to you or someone you care about, refusing to forgive or let something go is poisonous to your soul. And you know Vic would forgive these people if they ever realized what they were doing is wrong. Once someone admits fault there's no reason to punish them further. Why the fuck would you? Maybe if you were a cruel bastard.

What public accusations do is insure that some damage will be permanent no matter if the person retracts what they said or if the accused seeks forgiveness and receives it. That's why I have no fucking tolerance for it and why I'm so happy I can attend this con.

And even if in the off chance Vic is acquitted of all of this and goes back to working there, these people won’t work with him and might leave Funimation, like with what happened to Chris Hardwick.

Has Haberkorn done anything for Funimation since this shit happened? All he seems to have done is voice-overs for video games since this.

That’s how all movements start. BLM came off as a relatively reasonable movement when it started. Then the realization soon came that these people were starting to defend hoodlums and thugs who were evading the law, having weapons on them, and are clearly in the wrong, nevermind the slander that police officers and white people experienced.

The exact same thing with this stupid movement happened. Weinstein was apparently a legit predator, and it’s not just about a bunch of women speaking out against him. There is audio recording of his shenanigans, he’s actually being threatened with jail time, and it was revealed that faggots like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have been suppressing stories about Harvey, from my understanding. And Weinstein clearly had a massive influence on the film industry. He helped found big studios like Miramax and The Weinstein Company. And self-proclaimed feminists both pleasure Weinstein in the past and admittedly hid his antics from the public.

But now, the movement has turned into a spergfest where people just accused people of stuff and that alone is used to destroy the person. And usually over the pettiest shit, stuff that is usually casual play. And there’s a lot more emphasis on getting these people out of a job as opposed to sending them to jail, which not only doesn’t help solve the problem, but can actually make the alleged perpetrator more susceptible to commit such acts in public. Very similar to potential effects on something like the War on Drugs.

This Dallas News article has no point to it without making the “victims” look like hypocrites. This article has no effect, or possibly a negative effect on the defense’s case. It was never a matter of improving the situation. It was as only a matter of the “victims” being made to look good.

Voice actors dont need to be in the same room. They also often record things out of order. In fact they sometimes record lines "with" a character who hasnt even been cast. They could record an entire show, theoretically, before Vic was even hired to be in it. Rial could end up co-staring with him and not find out till much later. Which I would find fucking hilarious.

Personally, I'm not one of them. I'm more soured on the main players' work rather than the dubbing in general. I will still support Aniplex, and Viz since most of their actors have distanced themselves with Funimation. However, I don't blame anybody that stops watching Funimation all together.
