Why should it be the government's job to help people find a husband/wife? That would be the utter worst, 1984-like. I don't want anyone but the individual to have a say in who people care to be in relations with, whether its no one or a handful of people.

And people working is an attractive thing. Shows they're motivated and not lazy. They can pull their weight.
