They can't drop them without permission from the court. I want them to keep putting in hours for free. I want as many otherwise money-earning hours to be eaten up as possible.

Sanctions would be pretty funny, too. Especially sanctions that award fees.

i don't think attorneys can just drop clients in the middle of a case without good reason, and im not sure if "they're not paying me on time" is considered a good enough reason by judges

Yeah, when you name a guy in a deposition and he responds with "why am I being named in a deposition? I have no recollection of this so-called encounter. I'm now going to submit an affidavit saying I have no recollection of this encounter. What the frig is going on here..." it doesn't exactly make the deposed look credible at all.

These people are crazy deluded. Terrible friends to have on the sidelines as they shout advice to you that costs you the game and also you get sacked so hard you need spinal surgery.
