There's a lot of confusion about this ITT so allow me to clear things up; the RCMP is the nation-wide police force. A couple of provinces and most major cities have their own police forces (Vancouver does, for instance), but in the Vancouver metropolitan areas (Richmond/Delta/Langley/Surrey) it's just RCMP detachments. Basically outside of Ontario, Quebec and any large city it's all RCMP. Yes, our Mounties function as the federal police, the FBI, and can even (technically) pursue a fugitive over the U.S. border to arrest them.

Anyways, this is all to say that the Mounties being involved really isn't anything special; they're just our police. It's possible that somebody up the chain of command decided that Langley shouldn't handle this for whatever reason, but it's just the higher-ups in the Force pulling rank on a lowly detachment.

ETA: Just saw in the the thread that it's the Burnaby detachment; Burnaby and Langley are very close to each other but Burnaby RCMP is going to be handling more crime and more serious crimes by virtue of the higher population and proximity to Vancouver city proper. So it's really not special that Burnaby is helping Langley out; they'll have officers to spare for guard duty, etc.

TL DR: "Federal" RCMP is a redundancy, y'guys. Royal Canadian Mounted Police encompasses the idea quite nicely.

There hadn't been any action from the mounties previously, so I figured Yaniv was actually going to have to be caught harming a minor for the cops to do anything.

I'm guessing if they got a warrant to search for the stun gun it would have been broad enough to allow them to search for other weapons. A stun gun is sufficiently small that they could justify searching pretty much anywhere on his property, and looking for evidence of how he acquired illegal weapons would give them access to his electronic devices.

9 times out of 10 when I hear a story of someone being busted it's because they fucked up in the moment while driving(speeding/etc) or unpaid tickets resulting in warrants. I can imagine that they probably are trying to get a chance to get into his hard drives with these warrants and this taser gave them enough reason to actually search. That, and Yaniv being known as public nuisance #1

Oh yes, the sweet and delicious irony. Yaniv complains about gun control but has a taser and gets arrested for it. The one thing guns and tasers have one common? It's for self-defense.

Yeah guys obviously the cops got a search warrant within minutes of the live stream ending based on a meme debate between two trannies, and just happened to have out of jurisdiction cops in town for reasons. Nothing else makes any sense at all.

Call me a party pooper, but I'm not holding out much hope for this. Until the fat pedo is on trial and convicted for weapons and cp charges, I'm going to remain cynical.

Given how Yaniv has gotten away with so much so far, it'd be just typical for him to be let free later in the day so he can laugh about how the silly police (his friends, naturally) were sooo apologetic about having to search his place but nasty hate-filled terfs made them do it, and the police found nothing (apart from his stun gun, which they kept and told him not to be so obvious if he bought a replacement for it). Well, Jonathan will be so sorry, but he will be taking every officer of the RCMP who was involved in this raid to the BCHRT because it hurt his feelings and didn't validate his gender.

I really hope I'm wrong. No-one is as obvious about their pedophilia as Jonathan Yaniv is unless they have plenty of experience and believe they won't be caught. But tampon Jon has a horrible habit of always coming out smelling of roses (and wearing a smug smile), no matter what shit he throws.

Please, RCMP, don't let us down. Seeing this fat fuck gloating about getting away with child grooming and illegal weapons possession will be so frustrating.

Yeah, I'm not expecting much either since it is Canada. They'll just take the taser, fine him, but return all his CP.

On review, proper, traditional ulus look less than ideal for a fight. But there are certainly some variations on the design which I think you'd get away with carrying- maybe even with a little cord wrapped round the handle to make it easier to stab straight with. A little off topic as I'm not suggesting that anyone should engage in doing this in Canada, especially in relation to Yaniv, but it is a further example of the ridiculousness of their weapons laws, which ban certain mean looking semiautos by name while allowing others which are exactly identical in function.

That was parallel construction though. It was the only charge they could bring to court without their illegal evidence-gathering techniques coming to light. Any sane country would investigate a pedo troon simply for being a pedo troon.
