Given the length of time they've been at his apartment, I doubt their primary concern is a stun gun and pepper spray. Who knows how long they've been waiting for an opportunity to search his premises in a manner which he couldn't claim was targeted harassment?

My thought is the Stun gun on Youtube gave them the pretense to get an emergency order and go in. What they are actually investigating however is the Child Predator shit. Because he waved the Tazer it gives them a pretense to dig through his hard drive. And boy what joys will they find there.

Quick question: if they get a warrant to search his computers on weapons-related charges, and they find CP, that CP is admissible evidence in court for CP charges, right?

In the U.S., you can't do a search for one thing just as a pretext to go on a fishing expedition for looking for other things. However, if you have a warrant to search for weapons and in this case, evidence of a weapon that was brandished online using his computers, they can search his computers. They still can't in principle go on a general search for anything and everything, but in reality, once they have a warrant for computers and electronics, they tend to get thorough. If in the course of a legitimate search, they then encounter CP or some other contraband they weren't specifically looking for, that gives them probable cause to go looking for more.

In the U.S., if your initial search wouldn't have covered the search that uncovered the other contraband, you can't use that as evidence, under the "fruit of the poisonous tree" doctrine. I am not sure how Canada handles this, but probably in some similar way, although if anything, they probably have even less respect for your rights in such a search. That's just a guess, though.

I wouldn't anticipate them fucking up, though. If they find anything, it's probably legit, because they're acting like they're doing things seriously by the book to avoid such a fuckup, probably ironically thanks to Yaniv's own litigiousness. They're cutting out the local goofballs who have cucked out to him over and over and having it done by actually competent police.

I'm reading it the same because it seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to over a minor illegal weapons offence.

If they have held off until now, I do wonder if any suspicions of predation they have regarding Yaniv extend to others as well. Have they held off because they wanted to catch others and not spook them by going after Yaniv too soon? We'll probably never know that.

Yeah guys obviously the cops got a search warrant within minutes of the live stream ending based on a meme debate between two trannies, and just happened to have out of jurisdiction cops in town for reasons. Nothing else makes any sense at all.

If we're super lucky, they already had a warrant of some sort for CP or some other actually serious thing, but weren't sure of their probable cause, or Canadian equivalent, to execute on it, but when people started calling in about the illegal weapon, that's so completely unambiguous that they knew it would be probable cause by itself, and maybe even obviate the need for a warrant at all (exigent circumstances in the U.S.).

So they decided to just go ahead and execute on what they already had and add the weapon thing.

It isn't as hard as you think to get a search warrant anyway. More judges than you'd think literally have stacks of already signed warrants just waiting to be filled out and even where that isn't the case, there's usually a judge of the court assigned for emergency calls outside of business hours if you need something done now. As long as the details aren't obviously insane they'll just grant it and hey, if it turns out improvidently granted, they'll sort it out in court later.

You know who called it? @sperginity. Back in December, they were saying that people like JY never win because they always take it too far and provoke a reaction. And as others have said, had JY just stayed quiet in February he would have gotten paid from these beauticians under cloak of anonymity while the original JY thread died a natural death from attrition.

But that didn't happen. First was Miss BC and the reopening of his Twitter. The TOL appearances. His c/d toward Null's datacenter. The pissing off Oger in April. Being told by Devyn to take the cases to a hearing if they meant anything. The public Saxenda suicide threats/brain/breast cancer scares. The scooter and his leaping out of it. Finally brandishing an illegal weapon on a livestream.

I sure didn't think it would go that far, but clearly @sperginity has more insight into how deep psychopathy/narc can actually go beyond reason. They called it more than eight months ago.
