So what is her surgeon gonna do? Of course they are going to have to do another graft, harvesting from her thighs again, but how many times can they do this before the thigh becomes non-viable for skin harvest? Where will they go next for healthy skin? Her back? Her butt? A donor if there aren't any deserving burn victims who need the skin? I just have this image of Kelly on a medical merry-go-round wherein they transfer skin from a healthy part of her body to her rotting legs, send her home, she comes back even worse than before, and on and on.
Again, not much anyone in the psychiatric or medical community can do to make her stop this. I can't think of a single country that has the capacity to deal with this. Kelly is oriented to reality, meaning that even though she is a pathological liar, she know the year, her name, that killing people is wrong, etc. She's not a harm to others and though she is a harm to herself she has no plan to kill herself, which is the main purpose of the "may cause harm to herself" clause because people engage in self-destructive behaviors all the time and have no intention of causing their own deaths and cannot be institutionalized for such behaviors, from people who abuse alcohol to people like Pauly Unstoppable, who cannot stop tattooing himself, stretching out his neovagina during rough sex, and similar.
There is no psychiatric protocol to treat Munchausen because it's very rare and seldom responds to any sort of intervention. And even if they could institutionalize her for this behavior, public-funded no psych ward has the capacity to assign personnel to be with her 24/7 to make sure she doesn't fuck with her legs. She'd likely need two people with her at all times, to make sure that during staff meals, breaks, bathroom visits, etc that she is never left alone. If a facility cannot arrange that there's no sense in even institutionalizing because the first time staff gets distracted or have to go to the bathroom, she'll find the nearest object and cram it into her legs.
I fear the Canadian health care system is going to be pouring millions of dollars into Kelly's legs only to have her smearing cat feces over her healing wounds or picking at them until she causes necrosis because not even the most frustrated surgeon or doctor is going to tell her her punch card is full, no more surgeries (unless there is no place to harvest from on her body and there are no donors), go home and die from infection.
She really is the biggest female horror cow discussed here. She leaves Ashley the Lich Queen in the dust. Not even that girl who won't stop fucking dogs comes close.
