For me, at least, it's the fact that he's scamming people out of their money. He's a manipulator, and he's manipulating people out of their money. And the part that really gets me is that he gets away with it. No one's investigating him. No one's bringing him to account. We can see the lies and the manipulation, but no one in power is doing anything about this guy.

It's not necessarily the scam, but it's him getting away with it with little repercussions.
Saw somewhere a interview with a former Twitch mod who claimed that Twitch does not back up their ToS as they should, they mainly ignores when the rules are broken, and reporting him to some other authority would be pretty meaningless!

at this point, i think the idiots deserve it
the tipping trolls deserve it too
if you give him money, you deserve it, you deserve having "cuck" tattooed on your forehead
especially swaggins, who came crawling back to phil like the bitch he is

So to my understanding, the second tier was getting the cat on stream after the reveal, but since Jeff swooped in and gave him another 1k, he didn't need to talk in depth because it was another 1k and he just gave it to him
He did talk about the 'Teir 2 Tips Goal' in depth, but he did so 7 minutes before planetjeff tipped and already said he was going to do the stuff that was for the 'Teir 2 Tips Goal' immediately without mention that it had been the Teir 2 goal.

I believe originally the Pigroach's plan was the the 'Tier 1 Tips Goal' was to just reveal to the world he owns a cat and has for months for the price-tag of $1,000 (the 'Pahsitive Reveal' he's been going on about), and the 'Tier 2 Tips Goal' was to unlock the Open Office Door During """ChillStreams""" Jasper DLC (the 'something cool' this could lead too, and the 'something else cool' that could happen if we hit the 'Teir 2 Tips Goal'); but when Phil saw how bad chat was reacting to the $1,000 'I have a cat' nonsense he just immediately started babbling about all the ways this would be great for the stream and just flat-out said the shit he had been planning on not doing unless the 'Teir 2 Tips Goal' was met.

Phil fully intended to findom his paypigs out of more money to unlock Jasper being allowed in the "Office" sometimes but he pussed out when he saw how badly it was being received, so when planetjeff gave him an extra $1,000 Phil had to blatantly lie some more and claim there was never a 'Teir 2 Tips Goal' (Why fucking call them Teir 1 and Teir 2 Tips Goals then you fat, greedy liar?!?) and that the 'Teir 2 Tips Goal' was "just an idea-something I was gunna see-if you guys liked the idea-I was gunna let Jasper in the room during streams" because he had already said he was going to before planetjeff's tip and Phil couldn't think of a new Teir 2 Tips Goal on the spot.

Alright, decided to double check this thread and damn, we were right, the nigga got himself a pet, except he "had it for ages". Since I don't want to watch his bullshit, did anyone actually see his cat? Wouldn't put it past him to lie about having a pet so he could do this bs reveal.

yes the cat is real, he waived some pipe cleaner around and the cat was pawing at it

I wouldn't say there's little repercussions. I mean, at the end of the day he's still DSP.

I agree that DSP is a liar and a manipulator. What he does is absolutely a scam. The thing is, I don't think DSP is particularly successful at his scams. In fact, it feels like the more DSP actively tries to pull cons, the more he alienates the people he's trying to scam. As others have pointed out, it's not like Phil's whales were going to spend the money they donate to Phil on anything meaningful. It was always going to go towards him. At most, Phil is speeding up the process.

Phil's whales have their own weird reasons for hanging onto Phil. Some of them are probably just lonely dudes who want to pretend Phil is their friend. Others live vicariously through Phil. They want to spite the detractors because it gives them a sense of power and lets them pretend they are doing something meaningful/make up for their own inability to spite the people they dislike in their lives. Basically, they latch onto Phil because he's pathetic, which makes him relatable to them. It is also worth noting these weird whales aren't limited to Phil. Other Twitch streamers/YouTubers/online personalities get them as well. Phil's are a little more extreme in the amount they drop which is part of why he's so infamous to begin with, but I've seen other people throw a surprising amount of money at their internet personalities of choice. I'm sure Tevin has some of these types of people as well, he just hasn't been lucky enough to land a consistent whale to the best of my knowledge. But, I'm sure he has at least some people that are donating just to spite Phil/his paypigs.

Now, there are some paypigs that do start off believing the lies at first, but they tend to catch on when Phil actually tries to pull a scam. It just isn't as noteworthy because they're relatively "normal" at least as far as Twitch viewers go. They don't participate much in chat, get overlooked because their donations are smaller/more spaced out and not worth talking about. Them leaving is also not particularly noteworthy for the same reasons. It has had an impact though. Even if it hasn't financially destroyed Phil, if you look at his Patreon/views/even his general tips/cheers before a whale steps in, it has an impact.

The (somewhat) TLDR is that Phil, much like most things in life, fails at successfully conning people. The real reason he gets money is he's pathetic and attracts a similar pod of whales who project onto him. He's still absolutely a bad person for trying to run the cons in the first place, but I think they ultimately do more harm than good, at least in the sense that Phil could arguably make more/live a better life by simply improving his streaming setup and trying to become a better person (which is arguably impossible at this point) but he keeps taking the lazy/greedy way out and goes for the get rich quick scheme. I will also say what Phil does isn't sustainable, at least compared with the way he lives, and I don't think it is a stretch to say he's too stupid/stubborn to change his lifestyle. His downfall is by no means around the corner and I bet he can keep going for years, but I do think he is struggling behind the scenes, again because of his own greed/stupidity. He is and always will be his own worst enemy and that's why even with a stacked deck from his loyal whales, he remains a sad and bitter hermit. If you feel yourself getting mad at Phil, just remind yourself that the price for his "success" is having to be DSP.

yes the cat is real, he waived some pipe cleaner around and the cat was pawing at it

And then the fans were sending money with shit like "Yeah you show those haters! They're seething right now! You got a cat!" and my fave "Haters on suicide watch!" with many people calling this cat literally a victory against detractors.

So in the $2000 Cat Reveal video, Pigroach was gloating about how that day was basically the most money he'd ever gotten in any fundraiser event ever. Yes he used the word fundraiser. ThatAnonyMouse told him 'but you raised $3000 in tips during the fundraiser in December 2017' and piggy basically said 'wow I don't even remember, fair enough, thank you'

He completely forgot making $3000 in one marathon. At this rate he'll forget the $2000 he made by mid August. Throwing money into him is like literally throwing money into a black hole. Pat yourself on the back, PlanetJeff, you fucking faggot, you've earned your miserable existence.

Unrelated note, holy fuck this was a hard video to watch. Phil's massive jowls are flabbing more than ever when he talks, his howlingly terrible acting at feigning surprise from receiving the $1000 (moments later: 'thanks PlanetJeff... alright then. moving on), his voice is more annoying than usual and he's giddy like a schoolgirl. The only redeeming parts of sitting through this is when he starts actually looking at the waterfall of negativity in the stream chat and omnipresent his bald spot.

He's already forgotten. He "raised funds" on Sunday, took Monday off, and Tuesday he was back to our regularly scheduled begging like Sunday never happened.
