I think he's trying to claim that Vic's deposition described a different sequence of events than what @KEK7go described, and therefore perjury or something. Ignore the fact that Vic made it clear he had trouble recollecting the exact sequence of events surrounding the GFM when he was deposed, the entire line of questioning is pretty unlikely to ever be relevant in court, and it isn't perjury if you attempted to answer the question to the best of your ability and happened to get the answer wrong.

Technically speaking, that is asking for legal advice, even though I doubt Vic would ever have thought of it as such.

Nick has touched on this stuff before. There's some magical line where some bit of information from a lawyer becomes legal advice and puts the lawyer and the other person in an attorney-client relationship, even if there's been no formal agreement to that effect. It might be that Vic was asking for that sort of information from Nick, and Nick refused to answer but instead said "hey, I know a guy down there named Ty. Go talk to him." If so, that would count as merely a referral, not legal advice.

The claim was that he was asked for legal advice, not that he gave it. My speculation was that Vic might have asked for something that entered into the realm of "legal advice" inadvertently, then was instead referred to Ty.

It is my interpretation of the events, and I might be very wrong. In hindsight I might have worded it poorly by using the term legal advice instead of plain advice.

And I wish that follow up tweet made Vic gay.
