Da_Chancla / DaHopper / DaBottomLineIs Question Thread

cheer1000 Two questions that you probably won't be able to answer directly, but would love to hear your take on them!

1) Did/do you believe that any of the detractor "conspiracies" have credence? Or did Phil try to paint us as an army of psychopaths? Most of the detractor memes either come straight from Phil (who will either clarify, or claim he never said it - even with video evidence to back us up), or are based on his odd mannerisms and historical lies (for instance, PlanetJeff being in on the Jasper reveal and waiting until the end to drop the donation - we don't have evidence of this, but it was speculated before hand due to him saying he 'had a feeling' that they would hit the goal *hinthinthint* even when he was struggling to hit $200 after 2/3 of the marathon, not to mention that he was acting strange before the break that PJ donated after, and had been checking his emails throughout the stream for... some reason. His reaction to getting $1000 was also a bit... Odd...).

2) Why do you think people with deep wallets flock around Phil so vehemently? He seems to have built a core of a few hundred occasional donators, and a base of whales who donate an extraordinary amount of cash. I can't see the appeal of his streams - his gameplay is terrible, his commentary is worse, and his attitude is on par with DarkSydePhil. I believe he's built up a 'them vs us' mentality, but what does he bring to the table that the rest of the chat/supporters would lose without him (except their wallets)?

Sorry for the wall of text.

Greetings

Can I ask the basics?

1 ) How long were you MOD for Phil?
2 ) What is a MOD's prima facie responsibilities for Phil?
3 ) Did you enjoy Modding for Phil?
4 ) What was the benefit of modding for Phil?
5 ) What were the principal forms of communication between yourself and Phil?
6 ) Did you receive any chat moderation instructions before a stream on ''Banned Topics'', if so by whom?
7 ) Did Phil give MOD's any instructions on how to handle a topic?
8 ) How effective is detractor content?
9 ) How effective is troll tipping?
10 ) How do you think chat has changed over the last 18 Months?

Good luck.

I'm quite glad the pignosis wore off.
Would you give me any information you might have on Madara or PlanetJeff?
Anything is welcome, I'm not asking for a dox, I'll do that. I just need some info to get started.

I know Madara is a complete exceptional individual that likes asking Phil for medical advice because of some indentation on his head and nose bleeds, while PlanetJeff is an engineer who lost his tard wrangler.
literally no clue of planetjeff, never talked about ever in the mod room, phil does not speak about this guy...if he does its very rare. Madara is cooler than you would think when it comes to all this and is my bud.

1. 100% i can vouch for almost everything the detractors say as truth, they are definitely not conspiracies with the exception of the escort thing. im also pretty damn sure he knew ahead of time he was going to get 1k from planetjeff before the fundraiser due to his mannerisms just like the "trolls" spotted as well....i've been watching phil for many years and his tells are kinda obvious as several people have noticed them as well. as an example on his tells, i knew for sure his surprise was a cat ahead of time because he started oddly banning people who were saying he has a cat. Usually the truths to his lies get banned/make him angry
2. I honestly wonder this one myself but when i look back at when i was a legitimate fan i can say the 'them vs us' mentality is real and its strong, kind of like one gang vs another. Tevin actually noticed that these "fans" that give him this money wait until phil is supposedly on his last legs and begging for cash though... so my theory is that these whales just like to be praised, kinda like Tutankhammun, and the other smaller whales are getting a kick out of seeing him struggle again and again. for the last part of that question...he honestly doesnt bring much of anything other than drama and that "detractor vs fan" struggle that a lot of people seem to love being a part of.

10 ) How do you think chat has changed over the last 18 Months?

1. i checked my emails and i became a mod on around 12/13/2018 back when i was the_hopper
2. mod responsibilities were pretty much just to show up often, ban obvious trolls, occasionally attempt to help people get unbanned, and thats about it lol.
3. modding for phil was cool when i was still an actual fan, once the pignosis started to wear off it wasnt fun anymore. also being a mod in general is kind of a hassle because you're constantly looking at the damn chat rather than the actual gameplay and you get 20 pms a day about unbans.
4. main benefits were a bit more clout, some power as you'd expect, but not THAT much as it was quite limited, ability to do mod things like /emoteonly for example but no money or anything like that.
5. pretty much the only way to contact phil was in the mod room or during the stream as he does in fact pay more attention to mods posts @'ing him compared to a normal joe. I assume an email could also get to him but i never had the need nor want to do that.
6. I did in fact receive instructions and it was by OmnipotentSwagginz the former mod who vouched for me to get into being a mod, after that occasionally another mod would bring something to everyones attention in the mod room such as "guys i found out neggy is a tevin detractor meme" and then we would go on the look out for that.
7. Phil himself did not give personal instructions on topics it was usually a different mod such as swagginz or yusuke, only time i saw phil personally give instructions was after mastersaru/kingofghalf went crazy with timeouts/bans and phil had to step in.
8. Detractor content is VERY affective as for example a rough estimate would be ~80% of the chat knows/watches some form of it(i myself watched Tevin content right around when i became mod). also without the detractor content phil would have a muuuuch easier time swindling everyone including myself.
9. Troll tipping is honestly just good for the lol's because phil will always spin it in his favor or just not read it outloud in the first place. Troll tipping in general is just giving phil more money though which is a big negative, and is counterproductive imo.
10. Theres one huge difference that myself and many others have seen in his chat and thats the fact that so many regulars are gone or banned, and now im in the list too lmao... So many people sneak diss and just try to bait phil as much as possible, but yeah it just feels so empty without the oldschool regulars around
Did DSP require your real identity before he would mod you?
nope he didnt ask for my name, age, nothing. All i told him was that i have been watching his stuff since 2011
dude madara is so far from being cool , i learned about him when badbunny blew the shit outta him and he pussied down
plus madara is drunk off his ""power"" and to be honest most of yall are , like you gotta have some self awareness and realize that you are the villain's disposable mob in a very very bloated anime right ?
the badbunny/madara thing was whack, i told him several times badbunny is just as bad as phil if not worse he eventually figured it out though. I tried my best to not go overboard with moderator "power" although banning people eventually becomes a basic task to do...dont even really think about it after a while. Also, lmfao, yes thats a good way to put it actually "the villains disposable mob" and just like in those stories the villain always brainwashes his lackeys.
Did phil make you guys watch Detractor videos as homework or secretly sneak into a restream to find people in chat to ban in his chat?
No phil never asked us to do that and he did mention to NOT watch those videos, probably because he knew the pignosis would wear off.
do you feel stupid for supporting phil? i saw through his bullshit from a single video in like 2015 and have been following that trainwreck of a roller coaster.

do you see now that phil is his own worst detractor?
I do indeed feel kind of dumb but more like i wasted my time supporting him, in reality the john and howard video should prove that helping phil is a waste. Phil is definitely his own worst detractor, he will never understand that though as he quickly deflects and puts blame on everyone but himself.
i second this. what did phil require from you, if anything, to be a mod?
All he required despite popular belief was just a good track record in his twitch chat, i barely cheered like 5 dollars worth of bits and was subbed for ~5 months when i became a mod
Did you ever laugh behind the scenes during his major begging or mock him/copy what he said? “I need that money, I really do”
LMAO yes all the time, i would usually tell IRL friends and we would all laugh because its so memeworthy. Eventually though his nonstop begging got on my nerves and i would leave the stream when he would start with that garbage
Cheers for answering! I didn't catch the stREEEaam, but I watched MrHuth's video on it.

His deflection of criticism regarding being sick of the constant scamming and begging doesn't disappoint.

I believe his reaction to your chat ("I couldnt be idle about all the scamming") was that you literally publically admitted you're an asshole and that you were underhandedly trying to hurt him behind his back fanku and goodnoight ACKACKACK... Then he started talking about your ass for a long enough amount of time that makes me question his sexuality again...

On a side note straight after talking about putting bans in your bum, he says "At least it came out publicly, at least WE caught it!" - couldn't of picked a better example of the 'them vs us' situation he's trying to paint.
yeah phil makes and made a ton of accusations on me that kinda shocked me, i never tried or bothered to try and actively hurt him. Btw he does mention dongs and balls a heck of a lot for a straight man lol. The "them vs us" mentality is real strong with this guy, and its definitely manipulation to make the fans feel like they are on the "good side" going up against the "bad side".
It's very telling that you have been a mod for almost a year, an actual fan at one point to actually get sick of him on your own. His only defense for you to be an asshole out of nowhere was you watching detractor videos like you have been brainwashed. Like he said about some other dude(whose name I cannot remember)who lost his mind for getting sick of shit.

He just doesn't see it that way because he thinks he does no wrong.

My question(s) are: how did you find out about Phil in the first place? What made you like him and what made you a fan of his? Would you agree that his whole circle to be very cult-like?

edit: Now DSP said you went rogue, and "lost your mind". Just like the last guy.
I found out about Phil a loooong time ago back around 2010-2011 by random chance and coming across his YT videos but its been so long its hard to remember when i began to consistently watch his videos and became a fan. I did eventually become a fan and liked him due to his off the wall insults and jokes and not holding anything back especially the racist jokes lol i remember being shocked at hearing them. His circle is 100% exactly like a cult, it has all the signs, and its hard to break away from because of the way he pins the "us vs them" mentality...its kind of like you are going over to the "dark side" when you leave his cult.
Of course he says i lost my mind, more of that cult brainwashing...anyone that leaves is "crazy" and has "gone rogue".
Holy shit, really? :story:

I haven't noticed it myself, but this is extremely childish (and therefor definitely something DSP could do). My god, that really, really is childish... Dear lord.

Don't know if you know of any examples of people getting banned for mentioning a possible cat and when those happened, but if true, it's another thing that points towards DSP plotting the cat reveal purely to extract money out of his viewers. I mean, if the cat would've been let out of the bag (:tomgirl:) early, he would've lost the leverage for the tips goal during the marathon.
If you could somehow see the chat during the few days right before the reveal day, especially the night before, you can see him banning people left and right for mentioning the reveal is a cat. One user i specifically remember his name was something like "Dsp_has_a_cat" and phil took one look at the chat and instantly leaned in on him, deaaaaad giveaway that it was going to be a cat.
Did you screenshot the banned/blocked wordlist from Nightbot before you burned your bridges?
nope, i have literally never once looked at the nightbot banned/blocked wordlist as Popsicolo handles 100% of that, not even phil himself looks at that list of words

This is a big fucking shocker. I never really paid attention or cared for this dude but man that just says it all.

Thanks for answering questions. I had my doubts but appreciate it. Also didn't realize you were editing posts so I thought you dipped out.

♿DSP fans rollin' out♿

@The Bottom Line How much did you laugh when, after changing your Twitch name to one of Phil's grandiose Narc-phrases, he couldn't stop himself from saying it during your 'defrocking' and sounding like a dipshit?

"Folks, the bottom line is-is that DaBottomLi hahaha-'cus it funny because his name is-heh heh heh heh  "

You can tell Phil feels like a big man when he singles someone out in chat to squawk at and shit on, but he has no idea everyone else is laughing at how silly he looks.
