This makes sense to me at how shrewd Lucas is with business matters and how thirsty Disney was. It's kind of funny because they just wanted to rights to do their own shit and cut Lucas out completely with the OT. Lucas warned them that this was stupid but well....burn it all down to rebuild it.

Except nobody wants it. What an excellent investment.

Lol it's like when Obi Wan warned Darth vader not to strike him.

Once Marvel goes woke, yes. But actually, yes. Disney is completely going woke by passing up ABC shows and shit.
ABC’s lineup currently is trash (talking to you HTGAWM). The Mandalorian honestly fits right better in that lineup if Disney+ bombs out of the gate.

EDIT:
I’m starting to like Clownfish’s content a lot more. Anyway, he mentions that Netflix could lose 70% stock soon as Disney starts their streaming service with their crappy SW content.

This has been speculated in this thread by a few people, and I wonder how investors would take it if something like this were to be publicly confirmed

Matt Martin: "Hey, what if we cancel Galaxy of Adventures (probably the only remotely decent thing we've produced in 5 years) and replace it with a show that has a goofy mute Minions format where everyone is BB-8 and they all have their own porg sidekicks?! This will surely create a new generation of fans and attract the Marvel kids!"
Kennedy:
"BRILLIANT!"
I like how they include Porgs in there on the list of "everyone's favorite characters". Only thing cringier are all the commenters going crazy over "MUH LITTLE BEN SOLO! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! <3". I've talked about this before but the way these Twilight-tier Kylo fans always obsess over Kylo as their personal "dear sweet Ben-Ben Solo <3" always weirds me out. And why does Lucasfilm always insist on demeaning Chewbacca by pairing him up with those awful Porgs?

And in a desperate attempt to increase interest for Galaxy's Edge, Disney has announced that a TV special based on the park is coming out in September.
Gee, its almost as if you should've made this shit in advance to let people know your park was nothing more than OC bullshit. It will feature a ton of celebrities that have nothing to do with Star Wars. And on that note, Matt Damon, much like Katy Perry and Brie Larson before him, was invited to GE to try and restore interest.

Also here's Zorry Bliss's ship and the ship that dropped off Rey for those who had any doubts about the MSW leak (with their site having been shut down after their most recent leak).

"Zorry Bliss"... Reminds me of the naming scheme for Maul's awful brother Savage Oppress. Mark my words that they'll probably explain that "Mara" calls herself that because she feels sorry for abandoning Rey.
Trying to push their OC droid no one cares about alongside their even more failed toyetic mascot in a show which looks like it's trying to capture the Barney demographic. Great job on every level Disney. It's impossible to state how bad this is, but it's so emblematic of Disney Star Wars in that it's trying to one up itself on how to defile the legacy of Star Wars. Nobody's going to watch this shit other than the autists on TV Tropes who watch preschool shows all day and write long-ass articles about them

I'm not the least bit surprised. I've been speculating that this was the case for ages now, and I've begun seeing others think the same thing after Galaxy's Edge opened up. But the most obvious giveaway for me was the recent movie festival thing. The fucking hosts had to go directly to Lucas himself to get permission to use the unedited OT while Disney had no control over the matter, and George wouldn't be so gullible as to give Disney complete control over his exceptional brain baby. I've said this before, but since Day 1 its felt like Disney only rented the franchise from George rather than officially buy it and I can't wait till this supposed rumor turns out to be real and ends up on the newsfronts.

Sad part is though, here we are exposing Disney and nu-Lucasfilm's faults, shortcomings and hypocrisies yet by December this thread will probably be filled with newfags or irregulars who never bothered to read any of the controversial shit we've been posting and will just spend most of the time shilling for IX or trying to adopt a "fence sitting" stance that's not actually neutral and is just subtle Disney shilling and refuse to believe us when we talk about shit we've posted or confirmed before... And it gets even sadder when I realize that this thread probably has more info and leaks about SW than most places online...

What I think would be helpful though is if we could find any behind the scenes drama with close sources that we personally know of and leak it out. Because there has to be trouble in the production for IX.

I dunno. Why would they come to the Nazi Alt-right anti-feminist white supremacist suicide-advocating school shooting illegal dark web terrorist internet bunker Kiwi Farms to "educate" us on the wonders of Nu-Star Wars? It's not like preaching to us is gonna change anything.

If this is true it would explain a lot, especially since various forms of this have been speculated here:

I've been speculating that this was the case for ages now, and I've begun seeing others think the same thing after Galaxy's Edge opened up.

The sad thing is that this, if true, makes it clear Disney cares more about m1lking the SW franchise for every last cent than metaphorically taking the torch from Lucas and being a good caretaker for SW while producing more of the quality content that made Star Wars so popular across generations.

Disney looks like profit-maximizing money-grubbers if they're shitting on the OT characters solely to minimize or avoid paying George Lucas royalties. I can understand not wanting to incur unnecessary expense -- excessive royalty payments included. However, the fact Disney seems more interested in shitting on Lucas by rejecting his Star Wars legacy while going off in a new direction has been huge a disservice to not just Lucas but fans as a whole.

If Disney is that hell-bent on paying as few royalties as possible to George Lucas, they could have easily had TFA be a movie where many of us suggested that the old characters realize they are too old/uninterested in fighting in a new batch of never-ending battles so they pass the torch to new/younger characters who are eager to be the current era's rebellion and/or heroes. Any royalties involved with having those characters appear in the movie could easily be recouped by the additional fans that would want to see their favorite and familiar characters making their potentially-final film appearances.

Similarly, we could have had strong female characters capably fighting and holding their own beside their male colleagues without the whole "Force is female, we don't need no guys" thing that's been forced on us under Disney.

Instead, Disney seems to enjoy going out of their way to thumb their nose at everything they acquired from George Lucas and the fans that grew up enjoying Star Wars up to that point. While I might concede that the old EU was a mess in need of a major cleanup, seeing it replaced with items such as fart jokes, Earth-based soft drinks, and a Leia/Holdo romantic pairing makes the Disney EU -- which is apparently just as canon as anything in the movies -- look worse than what previously existed.

Sadly, I think I may share @GeneralFriendliness ' sentiments in that many of today's SW fans likely wont be disappointed or angry with Disney's lack of respect for Lucas' work in the name of maximizing the bottom line at the expense of everything else. Instead, these fans will continue to shit on the old-school fans for not liking Disney's SW content and they will continue to blindly shill it as the greatest thing to ever happen to SW. *sigh*

@GeneralFriendliness Apparently Clownfish heard some rumors about three things:
  1. That Disney might remodeled GE as a Aladdin park if GE keeps being a dud.
  2. The Rise of Skywalker final trailer is dropping in October.
  3. Apparently there’s rumors that the Hutts are returning for IX and Rey is actually Han’s daughter. Clownfish doubts these rumors.
Now is there going to be a panel for the film at D23 this month? And do you think that there will be a final trailer for the film in October if reshoots are going on from July-September?

Here's some more news and spoiler shit for the day. A recent promotional photo, supposedly of the gang on the muslim planet saving C-3PO. This may be related to one of the leaks, specifically the one about one of the macguffins, the search for C-3PO's lost right leg (seriously) and how it contains his memories from the prequel-era and which also hold secret data relating to another macguffin that's meant to help out the Resistance.

IX will have its own "speeder" scene like in ROTJ for max nostalgia except its speeders are said to be "cooler and more dangerous" as the speeders for IX will be called "Treadspeeders" and true to their name they have treads on their front for some reason despite being hover vehicles.
1565496660452.jpeg

They will be used by the First Order. There will also be a "hero speeder" for the Resistance but nothing is known about it other than it will have a completely new design.

Despite GoT's D&D working for Disney now, they've apparently started doing something with Netflix too.

Here is another pic from inside the Kylo Ren ride's long line inside the Resistance cave. Its not much.
1565499166610.jpeg

For those who just got here, I posted other pics from inside the ride before, including the animatronic troopers and a full description of the map, layout and ride sequences with a few pics starting somewhere around page 550 I think.

And here's the big hitter-

[----DRUM ROLL----]

Galaxy's Edge may actually close down and be rebranded! The absolute fucking state of Disney Wars. The news has started circulating after Twitter user Kslone, whose son is an employee at the park and has released accurate and verifiable info before (including the wage cuts for employees which is only now reaching the MSM), revealed during an angered (but now deleted) rant in regards to the working conditions for her son, that if the park doesn't see an increase in attendance by February that it will be fully restructured and rebranded which is something I fucking said would happen months ago! Bow down and kiss my thorax ye naysayers!

But in all seriousness, I can't believe how this is all turning out. Its as if this thread is a window to the Twilight Zone or something.

Most insulting part of this is that if the park flops it will be rebranded into fucking Aladdin Land based on the live-action film and its future sequels.

Everything certainly points that way. It's just hard to believe that Disney paid $4.05b for a rental, especially given the IP whores that they are.
