He needs this. He does this because of loneliness and the need for social interaction. He has straight-up said on streams that he is lonely and does not get out much. Pete Clark closed out The Hut, he can't pester people there anymore. He can go and try to busk for a little while but he's old and frail and he can't be out there for more than an hour. He knows how bad he is at the sax and knows it is pity money he gets. He doesn't care, he just needs any kind of social interaction he can get.

If he did disconnect, period, right now he would be sitting in his apt, alone, no one and nothing to talk to. He probably would have suicided by now.

All he pulls in when busking is just pity/chump change anyways. The guy can't read a music score, can't play by ear and doesn't know a single song yet believes he can sell CD's of his noise! Same for his "art". Making rocks shiny takes no artistic talent! About the only claim he makes about himself that is actually factual about the man is he is an entertainer!
