At least in my county they're the same thing. We went to the clerk's office and got the license, at which point we had I think 90 days to have a ceremony performed. We went to a Justice of the Peace, but even if you have a church wedding the person performing the ceremony has to sign the license and mail it back to the clerk, at which point it's stamped, officially recorded, and you get the original back in the mail to frame/keep in a safe/whatever. I have no idea how this applies to Las Vegas, though, as obviously shit can go down in a single night.

First off, -I only argue that the girl in the tumblr photos is a real woman.- That's the only position I take, I don't speculate on why or if she is really with him, or what the dude has going on.
Now, you say there's evidence that she's a doll? Um well, the dude's character and past actions nonwithstanding, the only proof that the woman in the tumblr photos is a doll is a photo of a doll with the same measurements that someone found. With the same hair yeah, but the face is not an exact match to me. That I don't see the resemblance is subjective, however I posit that these web forums posted of people posing their dolls only further my case, it's super hard to make it look like your sex doll is alive.
Which leads me to the next point, silicone is heavy. These dolls only have a internal metal armature to keep them in pose, but I don't think it's strong enough to keep them upright. Much less a doll of the measurements we see in the photos, with so much breasts making it top-heavy. There's been pictures of the 'doll' carrying a baby, how do you explain that?
I know some people would like to believe the dude carries around some sort of stand for the doll, but to ask me to believe that he drags around the doll, stand, and baby for photo shoots in places is asking too much of my suspension of disbelief. Chris gets banned all the time from places for setting up shop with much less than this, now we're supposed to believe this dude does his creepy shoots all over town? Sorry no, there's crazies that could do that, but not without gathering some sort of media attention and lots of bans. Look at Chris.
The gifs are pretty convincing to me. Again, if the dude had had the drive to learn how to animate and stop motion like that, he'd have been hired by someone a long time ago, with that kind of talent. What I mean is I doubt he has the talent to animate like that and piddles it away on this, it's simpler to assume he doesn't have that talent.
There's a video! the only complaint people have against the video is that she covers her mouth the whole time. She's being scrutinized by internet at the moment, of course she wants to cover up the feature about herself she doesn't like, her mouth, teeth, braces. It seems she's self conscious about her teeth, so it makes sense she'd want to hide them. I don't think anything else is off in the video.
I think that's all. All in all, to me it's a lot simpler to believe that the woman in the photos is a legit human (with breast augmentation surgery), rather than a ridiculously expensive doll owned by a broke dude who goes into crazy capers about town to take photos of the doll.
I know some people are very invested in believing she's a doll, but there's a lot of other explanations that don't need to take so many leaps of imagination. Setting the marriage cert that we already saw aside, he could be stealing the pictures from someone who has no idea, she could have severe personality issues, he could be super manipulative, she could be very naive, or she could be legitimately attracted to something she sees or think she sees in him. All of those things have happened before in the world and are a lot more plausible than the craziness people would prefer to believe because it's entertaining. However, again, I only say that I think the woman in the tumblr photos is a legit woman. All of the rest, I don't know enough about to speculate.

Going by the timeline, it's pre-braces being installed.
You can see that her teeth are a bit protruding, and a bit scraggly at the side, so I can see why she felt a need to get them corrected.

Those accounts all have facebook histories *prior* to that 'born' tag.

I can see your point. So what is your take on her involvement with him if she is assumed to be real? If I assume that she's real, I'd guess she's under some sort of delusion or duress in order to hang around him, or she's getting paid. Either she doesn't know the details or she knows all of them and is paid to keep her mouth shut. Both of those just seem too hard to keep up, which is why I think a doll is involved, but It would be less difficult to explain if she's real, I agree there.

Has anyone reasonably answered why, if he has access to the doll, and 'supposedly' he's so good at posing and photoshopping it that he can fool anyone but your careful eyes, why oh why then there's not lots and lots of photos of the two of them together? It should be zero effort to him if he's got the doll with him, right?

Actually, one would think that— all other factors being equal— taking photos with a live person would be more effortless than taking photos with an object that you must pose yourself and put effort into making look like a real person no matter how skilled you are at it.

Speaking from the point of view as someone who lives (legally) in the US but isn't a citizen, what is most convincing to me is the notion that there is a citizenship issue involved in Coffin's marriage. Anyone who has to deal with Citizenship and Immigration Services - even people who have "nothing to hide" - dread how capricious and unforgiving they can be even under the best of circumstances. Translation: you don't fuck around with them because they will fuck you up if you try.
Coffin broadcasts this shit all over the Internet and multiple forums are discussing the nature of his relationship. If there was even a whiff of non-legitimacy to this arrangement, you can bet your ass USCIS would do something about it. The marriage certificate seems to be legitimate. I can't speak for the woman's motivations, but Ashley - if she is Scottish - has to be real.

As much as I want to believe, yeah, I think Ashleigh was/is a real person. Possibly someone that cuck'd Peter and now he can't get over her, so he got a custom doll or something.
That being said, the real picture of her and the doll look different, so I don't know.
I'm still hoping that it's actually his mom, though. I just want this to be as horrifying as possible.

See, this is what I thought. That Susan (Whoever she is) was helping him with this, and whether or not Ashleigh is real or not, Susan is involved. I don't see how she couldn't be at this point, and being his mom would be a good explanation as to why

My personal theory of what's going on? It's a Chris-Sarah-Wes situation. Ashleigh really existed and was involved with Peter, but they broke up and she had a kid with someone else. Peter, instead of writing a comic, thus bought a sex doll that looks like her to complete his fantasy life.

If he knows the real Ashleigh and has the doll I'm going to go out on a limb and come up with a quick theory: Ashleigh is real, was married to Coffin and Harrison is indeed their son.
They may have had a one night stand and she got pregnant,; maybe she was drunk or he validated her in certain ways and she had low self-esteem. Taking advantage of the situation, Coffin held this all over her head in hopes of obtaining a Real Wife. She married him, they settled down and had a genuine relationship for a bit. As time went on though, his unstable behavior and bad reputation caught up with him and she started looking for ways out - maybe she did intentionally try to not appear with him on video so that she wouldn't be associated with his asinine projects. Eventually she leaves him, maybe even goes back to Scotland, taking the baby with her. Coffin, unable to let go, settles for Real Doll instead of Real Wife and just pretends Harrison never left. Still in his own little fantasy.

Wait, if he's being badgered for proof of his wife, and there's already an old photo of them supposedly together, why isn't he showing it off to people?? If people asked me for proof of my partner, and I had a pre-existing photo, then that's what I'd use. Not go through all this weird video and gif nonsense.
