Off topic (kind of and with a bit of a powerlevel): I just thought of this and it's regarding the attempted suicide by hand sanitizer: if she actually did attempt suicide and over such a minor thing, why wasn't she under suicide watch or at least had a nurse watching her like a hawk for most hours of the day? I do know a few people that have had attempted suicide and they were constantly fucking monitored and stayed in the hospital for many, many weeks.

It is really a shame that Steph got absorbed into social justice stuff because she does seem to have some degree of artistic sense. It's going to depend on a number of factors. (Different facilities may have different protocols so YMMV.) Generally, if someone comes in with suicidal ideation or an attempt, they're going to be put on a psychiatric hold in the ED until they can be fully evaluated. Then, depending on the facility, they may get admitted, released, or transferred to another facility depending on the hospital's resources and the severity of the situation. I can't imagine they would keep her for very long (maybe a night or two with a sitter) with such a weak attempt, especially if she said she was no longer suicidal after her panic attack. It wasn't a planned thing or anything like that, it was a bizarre attempt to get out of a stressful situation. I doubt any hospital is going to waste resources on something like for longer than they have to. As long as she didn't show she was an immediate danger to herself or others, she wouldn't be involuntarily held. (Though, let's be real, she'd love the drama of it for pity points.)
