What a dumbass. If he wants to court the Chinese vote, the last thing he should do is put his white face on the leaflets. He should know as well as everyone else that a big reason he got anywhere near the 14k votes last time was because people mistook him for City Councilor candidate Michelle Wu, since there's no photos on the ballot and they thought John was a real Chinese.

He doesn't even need to do that, imo. The "lie by omission" of a no-photo Chinese leaflet with just his name would be plenty good enough to dupe the unwary public. He doesn't even need to come up with a proper Chinese language given name, since so many second and third generation Chinese in America only have Western given names.
The incompetence is staggering. This shit should be obvious, doubly obvious since hopefully at least two adults (ie Frank and Frank's father who provided the Chinese translation) gave this the greenlight.

Cupcake Crisis never got as far as a demo, just a brief character animation. And it was Amanda Warner's idea, not John's, so it had almost zero chance of ever being made. Either way, the thing was dead the moment Amanda left Giant Spacekat.
The Wus are never returning to games. Their rep is well known in the area so they aren't going to be able to get the cheap labor again. They are largely despised by the Bay Area video game cliques so even if by some miracle they had a product to run with, it won't get any coverage outside of people looking to destroy anything attached to Brianna Wu. Gamergate was their best chance to ever get Revolution 60 to sell and, even if John didn't fuck around with putting out the PC version, at best they probably would have only gotten a couple hundred more copies sold. It should say something that Frank seems to believe that these political campaigns and financing four luxury cars is a better use of his money than allowing John to make another video game.
