I know she is more morally repugnant because she is a child-groomer and pedophile. He isn't, as far as we know (and honestly, if he was and anyone knew about it, it would be out there by this point). And yeah, I reserve my right to change my opinion about people or other topics as I learn new information about them.
There doesn't necessarily need to be direct proof that he's capable of shit like that when there's plenty of evidence of him being about as nasty as she's apparently claiming he was. I'm not going to keep reiterating why it's strange to assume that she's lying.
I do get what you are saying, there is no reason to assume she is lying about it. I would argue that her past behaviour does make her less than reliable but, considering this is a video with receipts and has other people helping her out, checking her story against those receipts then yeah, fair enough. I just thought it was strange that there was evidence for everything else but only her word for the worst accusations. But we can assume there is no evidence for it just because there is none - it happened in real life and, if it did come up later in texts, it wasn't something we got to see.
They're not, no. But his behavior towards her in messages that he thought would be held in private doesn't exactly paint a pretty picture about the man you're saying is "a huge victim".
I only ever said he was a "huge victim" in the hypothetical which, like all my posting before I got some sleep, I regret immensely. Let me be clear - he is only as much of a victim as he allowed himself to be. He not only gave his critics the ammo to take him down, he made the guns for them and rubbed his own shit in the wounds after they shot him. He deserves everything he gets.
My only caveat here is that I would like to see him turn things around but, as someone else pointed out (it might have been you) what are the actual chances of that? Even if his character flipped entirely, he is still fucked in terms of optics and his reputation. He has garnered a particular notoriety and is determined to lean into it.
That is one thing I did know about him before all this came out. Keemstar refused to help him because his first video on his ban-evading channel was about calling the CEO of YouTube a horse-faced bitch. He is at his most stupid when he dogmatically pursues something when anyone else would listen to common sense and back off a bit. For example, some of his Tweets and other comments on and around this video are... interesting, especially when considering he accused Liu of not being able to do her own PR.
Briefly related to that point I think he better try damn hard to hold on to EmpLemon, Rusty Cage, Reactor, Turkey Tom, and the other Internet "friends" he has left because it is going to be a few years before
anyone wants to collaborate with him or honestly even shout him out. His reputation is dirt for anyone who wants to make their career on YouTube and related sites. Although EmpLemon acted a spazz in that podcast, he is right in that Mumkey's dirty laundry is affecting him too. Pewdiepie shouted him out when his channel got deleted, he wouldn't dare do that now.
Of course, I simply think it's bizarre at best to take this information that's come out under the assumption that she's lying.
I get you. We'll chalk it up partially to her character and past actions affecting my judgement (especially the pedophile shit, all of that hits me hard) plus my love of theories and conspiracies, being slightly sleep-deprived and hungover, my own prejudices, and the excitement from the video. Baby really did need sleepy time.
That doesn't mean I flipped on my position. I think there still could be something there. But there is no evidence beyond the circumstantial - but how does Mumkey go about proving a negative?
If he confirms he did force her to stop taking meds and manhandled her in her "office" then I will completely rescind my position but, until then, I'd still say you have the best argument for being right, but my gut tells me I might be on to something. As I said before, we can agree to disagree and time will probably prove one of us right.
