Some fans on Reddit (http://archive.fo/zG7iy) didn't like that on the latest Sardonicast episode, Adam had very dismissive thoughts about Eraserhead, to the point that IHE and Ralph couldn't really talk about the film without him interrupting with his negative criticism.

I remember reading how he also doesn't like Lynch because he doesn't have scene selections on his DVDs, and how he hated Eraserhead because he lost his place when he stopped it to go to bed.

I'm also unsurprised by his salty, strawmanny, TL;DR response.

EDIT: Found the quote:
Adam said:
I'll be seeing more of his films, but so far I've only seen Mulholland Drive (which I liked), Inland Empire (which was :/ ), and half of Eraserhead because he's such a cunt that he refused to allow chapter selections on his DVD. It's really off-putting and unadmirable how little respect he has for the different ways one might want to enjoy his films. He's quoted in interviews saying he doesn't believe someone can have watched a movie if they watched it on their phone. That's bullshit. Obviously you're going to get the best experience in a theatre, but that's a ridiculous thing to claim. I watched Eraserhead as I was going to bed when I was about 16 years old, stopped the movie halfway through because I was tired and wanted to experience the movie with an alert and attentive mind (something you'd think he'd want people to do). In the morning, I tried to skip chapters but the DVD was all one chapter. I did some research and found out that David Lynch refused to include chapter selection on that DVD along with other films from him. I didn't feel like fast-forwarding the whole way through so I returned the rental and have had a bad taste in my mouth ever since. I'm sure the guy would prevent people from pausing and taking piss breaks if he could. I don't hate him because he's untalented. I hate him because he's a pretentious ass that apparently would rather have me not watch his movie than watch it the way I want to.

Of the stupid, nitpicky criticisms I've ever heard him make, that has to be the stupidest and nitpickiest of them all, holy shit. It has nothing to do with Lynch's ability as a filmmaker and everything to do with Adam as a viewer. I can understand getting mad because a DVD has no scene selection, but it's autistic to just dismiss a director's work based on that.

Adam can never be wrong. Now, listen to a long-winded explanation of his train of logic.

Seriously though, this response gave me flashbacks to his Quiet Place review response:

Lynch's mindset of openly rejecting analysis of his work and just letting the mystery be clashes with Adam's autistic academic mindset where everything has to be explained/have a logical reason. Not having a scene selection is just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Well I knew I wasn't listening to that episode because I'm so over Adam wanking over Lion King as teh bestust anniemayded moovee evurr and how dare they ruin his husbando.
Now I have another reason not to listen. What a fucking twat. I don't like Lynch at all, but I would have liked to hear Alex and Ralph discuss the film with some levity.
Maybe Adam is just mad because Lynch doesn't take any drugs and doesn't include any muscular hung anthros in his work.

This fucking guy, holy shit.

Also, "I don't feel I interrupted anyone" – well okay then, all those people complaining about it in that thread are clearly wrong to have that impression since you "feel" that way, good thing you sorted that issue out. I only listened to a couple first episodes of theirs until I unsubscribed, but it always seemed like Adam (having the most """""serious""""" movie content) did most of the talking in the podcast as IHE is a comedy channel (or was? I haven't seen his stuff for the last year or two) and Ralph is just a bit more passive. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if Adam ranted over their discussion in this case.

Anyway, he's simply just another victim of the L Y N C H I N G.

This further proves that autistic people are some of the biggest hardasses out there, coming from an autist.

I've got to agree with him about the camera perspective thing. It really stuck out to me and I felt like the punchline of the scene would have landed much better if the scene was shot like an actual movie in that time period.

I also agree that the ending came right the fuck out of nowhere tonally.

Good job Adam, a reasonable review.

He also bitches about characters smoking lsd. I haven’t seen the movie so I don’t know if they actually do it.
Brad Pitt’s character smokes an acid-dipped cigarette.

He also didn’t mention the extremely gratuitous shots of women’s feet, but maybe that’s just a given with Tarantino at this point.

Jesus christ maybe people don't want trannies in cartoons because its a degenerate fetish, just like you electrocuting your dick and wanting to get raw'd by an old crusty lion from furry kid-friendly hamlet

That and people don't want the motivation for what is a mental disorder, via gender dysphoria, to be something that everyone should dream of being.

Hate to doublepost, but...something that ticks me off is the way Adam rates movies. Look at his most recent review

>Not a bad movie but I didn't hate it either
Gives Movie A 3/10

?????

I know he does it based on starting at 5 and then giving it a point or whatever there, but his review didn't sound like he would give it a 3/10. This sounds like a review where he would give a movie a 5/10 or whatnot. I'm confused.

Adam’s philosphy (that I agree with, btw) is that most critics rate things way too highly in general, like giving a middle of the road movie a 7, maybe even an 8. The idea is that in a perfect world, movie scores would be almost like a bell curve, with about 50% of movies scoring 5 or less.

That being said, his rating for this one specifically threw me a bit too. It honestly sounded like he had some earnest praise for the first half, and then just found the second half formulaic. So who knows, maybe he was just grumpy when he decided on the score or something.
